i can never get htaccess to work
 

do i have to put a file in each folder? seems thats the only way i can get it to work. i've never understood why and it makes me feel stupid, something so simple and i can't get it to work properly.

.htaccess will work in any subdirectory, unless another .htaccess resides, in which case that one will take affect

put one main one in server root
