At 12, there's a town meeting... gonna talk about the hot real estate market. Should be good

I "friend" bought a house in July 2004 for 200k, someone just sold a comparable house a block away for $380K ;)

I usually have CNBC on in the background at work. Good stuff on there.

The price of a house in my area has gone way up.. wish I would have known this a year or so ago.. would have tried to buy some houses and sold them today!

In the next decades as ageing baby boomers start to die, you would think there would be a lot of houses for sale in places like Florida and other retirement communities. More supply, less demand = lower prices.

Do you think this is a trend to watch?

I am wanting to sell my house and make a nice $100k on it, too bad capital gains tax will take 25% of that cause I have lived here less than 2 years ... either way, I think I am better of selling here shortly and making some money before the housing market busts.

When will that be? NO ONE knows!! You keep hearing about it and hearing about it. Just curious as to when it might actually happen.
