"Who Let The Dogs Out" Mystery Solved As Man Confesses To Mistake
 

SPOKANE, WA ? A Washington state resident has come forward to inform police about his involvement with the infamous 2001 incident where a group of dogs were accidentally released from an area home.

John Simone says he was house sitting for his friend and didn?t realize that the five dogs in the house needed to be leashed before they went outside. ?They were sitting by the front door scratching the frame,? Simone told police. ?I thought they would just run outside and take care of business and be back in a few minutes. When they didn?t return after a few hours I knew there was a problem.?

The dogs went on a four month rampage that included loud barking, public defecation and lots of running.

?It was touch and go there for a while,? said sheriff Larry Hart. ?We?d get a call from local residents saying that a pack of stray dogs were tipping over their garbage cans and by the time we got there the dogs were gone.?

The police eventually caught up with the dogs and lured them into an elaborate trap. Police refused to describe the trap to reporters. ?Let?s just say, Thank God for Snausages,? said Hart. ?It was quite a battle, but in the end the dogs went quietly.?

?I guess their bark was worse than their bite,? Hart bragged to reporters after the capture. A reporter was arrested for trying to punch Hart for such a lame quote.

Simone confessed to police that he was high on marijuana when he released the dogs and was afraid to call them. Police haven?t said whether they plan to charge Simone. The dogs were turned over to the ASPCA where they were immediately killed.
