World of Warcraft destroyed my work

FUCK FUCK FUCK
I can't even remember when I submitted my last galley... :(
I just keep playing that stupid game, it's so fucking addictive. For gods sake teenrevenue works out great but i really have to get back to work.. traffic flow goes a bit down nowadays..

DONT PLAY THIS GAME IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEED IN THIS BIZ :Oh crap

Platinumpimp 05-28-2005 08:52 AM

It's your own decision to play mate... :)

a1ka1ine 05-28-2005 08:54 AM

i used to be addicted too, it launched in march and i played through until the start of may, i put in around 32 days of game time according to /played

i was a l60 night elf druid on skullcrusher-eu - i was extremely well equipped and played it a lot.

however i didnt do a lot of work while playing and i closed my account, it was becoming a problem and it was one of the hardest things to do. i dont think i could have that game on my pc and only play an hour or two a day, so deleting my account was the best option.

i miss all my friends on there and a lot of aspects of the game, but my business is #1 in my life, and its when it started to become #2 i realised it was a problem!

s0laris2 05-28-2005 09:07 AM

I was singing "I lost my partner to WoW" for a while.. glad he went to
WoWAnonymous and was cured.

strats 05-28-2005 09:11 AM

On top of being addictive, it's a poorly made pathetic attempt at a mmo catering to the most retarded cheeto snarfing homo's.

pstation 06-14-2005 08:32 AM

Fuck man, im addicted to this shit too now, ive totally neglected my sites and my business partner is pissed that i haven't done shit in weeks :( im just hoping to get some work done now while the servers are still down :(

BigRod 06-14-2005 09:41 AM

I think that is a problem many of us have had, it usually takes revenue to dip before getting your ass back in biz :)

BigRod 06-14-2005 09:42 AM

Just remember its a lot easier to stop playin those games if you don't start!

Marcus Aurelius 06-14-2005 09:48 AM

It is a pretty addictive game, especially now that battlegrounds is out.

Haven't tried battlegrounds yet.. was actually heading to SM one time and somehow it got bugged and I wound up at Battlegrounds. Bizarre. I was blown away by how MANY people were lined up at the gate waiting to go through. Damn! :helpme

I'm working on levelling a Night-Elf warrior right now on Lightbringer (lv 28), I also have a lv60 Pally on Lightbringer server.

WoW is fun, though their customer support leaves a LOT to be desired (imo), and there are so many LOSERS online who just want to fuck around and ruin other people's fun, THAT sucks.

I can see how it can get distracting, but I have a strict rule - it just won't be played until AFTER work, no compromises! :thumbsup

Georgief 06-14-2005 10:32 AM

I`ve heard the word that most suits this game is addictive and now you prove it ... i`m glad you understand this game can`t help you much and shared your problem .... i like games but played no more than few hours a day :thumbsup

geejay 06-14-2005 11:26 AM

I feel ya! City of Heroes ate my soul :helpme

EviLGuY 06-14-2005 11:33 AM

I went through the exact same thing with Everquest a couple years ago. I finally managed to quit that, and I am staying way the hell away from these other MMORPGs. Being able to set your own hours + a game like that is a bad bad combination.

Manowar 06-14-2005 11:34 AM

its happened to me with the Battlefield 2 demo

munki 06-14-2005 11:48 AM

Everquest got me... I've been EQ free for 3 weeks now... Was thinking about WoW, but looked back at how much time I killed on EQ, and realized I would never get anything done.

How did they get the crack coded into a program???

How do i do that with my site??

LMAO I knew it was time to quit for a while when my girl woke me up from a dream one night. She told me I was saying I can't handle any more mobs, I already have 2 yellows on me... That was an interesting explanation

Mako 06-14-2005 01:29 PM

I got the game in December, by May I had a 300 person guild that I ran alone, had accomplished all of the end-game content with the exception of Ragnaros, and had every worthwhile item in the game. I closed it a few weeks ago out of boredom, it just got old, and I'm thinking of selling my char on eBay because it would likely go for a few hundred bucks.

Great game, but it's very simplistic, not much depth once it's all said and done. On to Battlefield 2... :)

candyflip 06-14-2005 01:32 PM

You could always pay someone to play for you or even rent a character for the week.

I saw this today. Someone's actually making a living PLAYING GAMES!

You must destroy the cd...

Downtime 06-14-2005 02:23 PM

vogueboy 06-14-2005 02:39 PM

Well sum time ago Ultima Online almost ended a 3 year relationship, my gf said it was her or Ultima, lol. Luckily I chose her and gave Ultima to a friend o' mine.

Babaganoosh 06-14-2005 02:54 PM

What's work?

I'm a level 33 undead rogue on skullcrusher US. That's my job. ;)

More Booze 06-14-2005 02:56 PM

I had 4 lvl 99 US East Realm characters in D2. Stopped playing for 90+ days and they were deleted. :disgust Two years of work/play gone. That's what caused me to lose my game.

Same thing happened to me. I had a 99 amazon (windforce and all) and a 96 MF sorc get deleted. I just reinstalled the game last week. Haven't really played much but it's fun to revisit it.

naitirps 06-14-2005 03:20 PM

hah, i was hooked on daoc, but just decided to stop playing, but then a friend got me hooked on guild wars now... bah... it never ends.

Dalai lama 06-14-2005 03:21 PM

Unreal Tournament, I confess.

Rich 06-14-2005 03:28 PM

I have to watch myself so I don't play Civilization III for 6 hours on end some days. It's amazing how addicted grown men can get to these games. I turn on that game for 5 minutes and I turn into an evil combination of King George and Donald Rumsfeld.

STiNKyMeAT 06-14-2005 03:38 PM

<-- 53 Undead Warlock, Chastomang, Malygos server.

I am hopelessly addicted. :helpme

I feel you brotha. I remember a whole summer wasted. Not out at the club with the hot toes, but chasing some mob to get my levels.

I quit the EQ when new one came out, and said you can't take char's over to EQ II. That was the end of such games. Smeeegle is FREEE>.

lol

:pimp

vogueboy 06-21-2005 01:39 AM

I almost upgraded my iMac just toplay Wow (it requires a 1Ghz G4 Mac I think) but now I'm having second thoughts. :uhoh

BTW funny World of Warcraft comic: http://pc.gamespy.com/flintlocke

Mr Pheer 06-21-2005 01:45 AM

i had an undead warrior that i got to lvl 33 before i got bored with the game and cancelled my subscription. Seemed to be pretty much the same thing over and over.

Xenophage 06-21-2005 07:42 AM

Just ask youself this one question ?

Would you rather have fake gold peices stored on a server somewhere or real gold peices ?

I realized after blowing about $250,000 worth of my time on DAOC that these MMP are really dumb, You pend a pile of time building something thats worthless !

I will never buy a MMP game again I only by games I can finish in a short time period !

One thing I learned was that these games last a hell of a long time. And the race to level 60, 70 or whatever is not a race. If you schedule your days and make sure that you do your work first and then play you won't have a problem. Just like your parents use to say... Exactly! Self-discipline is the key! :thumbsup

vogueboy 06-21-2005 11:46 AM

That's why I've been only playing playstation2 RPGs, games that can get you hooked for a week but you know you'll finish 'em someday even if it takes 60 hours (like it took me Final Fantasy X). Besides these games have a story, MMORPGs are like real life, there's not much point ;)

reynold 06-22-2005 12:43 AM

That's why that game is not advisable for those who have a regular job and a heavy workload.
