Besides a hitman or demo crew who does one call...

when you want to make a complaint about noise? I live in a brand new condo which is dead centre in the theatre/bar district and there is this one bar that plays the music so loud that my windows rattle and I am on the Penthouse floor! I realized that there would be noise upon taking said condo, but this is way overboard. It's the only bar where I can hear the music as if it were coming from the living room. Not to mention that it's fucking raver music which plays the same beat over and over again for like 10mins straight and then on to the next wrist slitting song (if you can even call them songs).

I'm no prude by any means, but I can't fucking sleep and I have visions of going down to the bar and ripping the shit right out from the DJ booth...I can even hear the MC as clear as day when he thinks he has something to say. This shit goes on until 3am. If it were one night I could suck it up, but it starts Wed and goes through until Sunday, wtf do I do?

LOL Oh I be the violent type! Do it to it!

Stuart, so not true lol. There are at least 50,000 people that go through this area on any given night. Party until tomorrow, I don't care. The music SUCKS ASS. If it was something that I could perhaps tolerate then I might be able to get through it, but it's not. Even my dog starts freaking out. So I've got this shit techno music blaring and my dog barking at it, NOT fun! lol.

Usually I'm up at 3am (by choice!), not a big deal, but this is getting ridiculous, especially when sick and on top of that a sleeping disorder LOL. Someone must DIE!

If your on the penthouse floor and having this problem then obviously everyone else in the building is too. I'd contact a few other tenants and tell the super or owner of the building. If that fails, start complaining to the city... This isn't gonna be one of those things that stops overnight since this is their place of business and not some rowdy kids. Good luck.

WG, I was thinking that same thing regarding the other tenants. There must be some sort of law that to have the music to a certain level. This is insane and I wonder how anybody in that bar can even manage to order a drink and be heard. It's that loud! I'm sure there is a fine that they hand out, but they probably just suck up the fine and carry on. Again, someone must DIE.

Why did you choose to live in the bar district? Seriously the bar was there before you were and probably will be after you leave.

My reccomendation would be that you contact the landlord and try to get out of your lease.

If it's that loud, then it's not normal. Unless all their doors & windows are open, you shouldn't be hearing it. I'd check with the rest of your neighbours and send a request to the city to come measure the level of decibals of the music outsite of their place of business.

Thats why I think you're in for a long battle. If it was a neighbour, a couple police citations should get them kicked out. But this is a bar and a place of business so the chances of them lowering their music after 10 or 11pm is not likely. But with enough complaints from other tenants, you might have a shot.

This I am aware of, however, it by far is louder than the law allows. I chose to live here because my condo kicks ass and there are several other bars up and down the street that keep the levels to the legal requirements. I don't have a landlord, thanks tho.

TopbucksTrixxia - I think I am going to have to do just that. I just have to figure out which bar it is LOL.

WG, sure it's their place of business but I believe that they play it as loud as they can. If that were the case (that it was their place of business and OK) then all the other 1,000 bars around here would be just as loud.

Call the police... call anyone. That's not right. They don't have any right to disturb your sleep or be intrusive with their music. Does Canada have any attorney general type of people? That club should be more sound proofed and I'm surprised that no one else has complained if it's that loud, surely others are bothered by it too.
