PLAYERS BALL - PLAYERS BALL - PLAYERS BALL - June 14th 5:30 pm - Midnight
It's getting closer.
Please make sure you're registered with http://www.CybernetExpo.com, the show is a part of this convention. The live performances will be before sunset, if you like live reggae by the water, poolside with a BBQ and free beer, you're gonna love this party. And if you don't like that, we'll have a Wet T-Shirt competition with Tone Loc as the host performing his big 3 hits. DJ Evan will be spinning throughout the evening, possibly all night. We also have a new sponsor, more of a mainstream one, http://www.mixunit.com. If you're not familiar with this site, check it out, they sell those hot mixtapes covering hip hop, reggae and more. I'll be doing taking these guys as a client to start up their affiliate network very soon. |

Killer boots man. Can't wait to see you and yes that means I'm coming. I was going to skip it, but I think I'll come in for a couple days. I'll be in Tahoe over the weekend on a white water rafting trip and then to San Fran for 2 nights to hit wine country, but I'll find a way to make it.

I can't wait! It's my first convention *eeeeeeeeee!* :D

Their stuff kicks ass, always the newest freshest cuts. On another side note, looks like a major DJ, one of the ones you'll find on that site, will be doing a Players Ball mixtape for January. It's his thing that he'll be making the money with, I'll get the branding. I'll be making voice samples of Debbie The Glass Lady, Don Magic Juan and myself for the CD. Should be really hot. I won't give the name of the DJ until things get closer, but he's one of the big ones out there. Thanks to B-Money, the other $. Not related. |
Yo Can I get on stage and sing my latest tune entitled " Aint Nothing But Juicy Ho "

Hey D$ how'd you get so stuck on the idea that a bunch of mostly white computer nerd webmasters all only like rap music? Why not diversify the PlayersBall and book some R & B band or Rock n Roll bands?
I still love ya my yiddisha soul brotha! Joe S. |

All good brotha man. I guess you didn't get the memo that this one is a Reggae party. We also did reggae last year for Cybernet. In the past we've had the Original P-Funk members perform, B-Side Players (Salsa, Latino band), Long Beach Dub Allstars and a few others that weren't rap related. Just depends on who's available, how much they are, whether webmasters would enjoy it, stuff like that. Think of the best options and I'll give you the reasons why we didn't or don't do those. There's always a reason. For January, it's always the best deal for a rap artist or hip hop artist because a band of the same size popularity would cost way more. It's also much harder to coordinate the schedules of a band when it's not a routed tour date, then a rapper who usually requires just his DJ plus 1 or 2 others. Lot's of reasons, I can go on and on, but the main thing to remember is that we ge the best names for the best price that appeals to the most people. More bang for the buck. Any major rock band wants over $100k per performance and more if it's not a routed date. Where as you can get a huge rapper for around 1/3 or the price or half the price. And if I have a hard time raising money, which is never easy to do, it's easier to set your goals for a realistic budget. However, next January's goal is very large and will be our largest investment yet, if things go as planned. I hope that answers the question. |
I'll miss this one. Let me know when Snoop is going to be a featured artist :)
