Lawyers, Opinions, and 2257.
 

Many have stated to get legal council in regards to 2257 compliance and understanding, this in itself is great advice. Asking for others opinions on 2257 is also perfectly understandable if you plan to incorperate the feedback and questions you get from such threads with the advice of an attorney. Though there has been one glaring thing that has been nagging at me. Numerous times I see people saying to see a lawyer that specilizes in 2257. There is an flaw in that logic, most of the adult lawyers who's names we all know really specialize in first admendment law and just happen to have sound theory on 2257 law. Not everyone will be able to afford such an attorney and would be well suited to get in on any lectures by such attornies. Do keep in mind though the adult attornies again only have theories on 2257. It is basicly a record keeping law and no attorney has yet defended anybody on a past or present 2257 case. Only exceptions would be that a select few attornies did assist when the original 2257 was drafted. So as a personal opinion to those that can not afford one of the known adult attornies, seek out some legal advice from a contract attorney. They will be way more affordable in most peoples budgets.

NO time for any of that nonsense, They usually too damn busy sleeping off last nights drunk to make it to Lectures. I've seen it for years, they have a chance to ask questions of the best suited attny's in the genre, but they are too hung over from last nights party at insert pricey sponsor party at hip club here to get their lazy asses out of bed. and why should they, I'm sure sponsors will soon offer free hosting, free content, free trials and free legal counsel?? who will be the first to step up?


Point is, a ton of people have had the chance to speak with experts free and they didn't take advantage of it. 2257 is no surprise, and in actuality was not as extreme as the purposed regs that were posted 18 months ago??? is it? If your not prepared and don't have a plan to be prepared ............it's your own damn fault

I actually attend the boring ass lectures at the convention I attend and often skip the parties. Though you are correct way to many are to concerned with the fun and not enough with the work. The free legal counsel line above was priceless btw.

Thanks LOTF I try to lighten up a little sometimes. And Kudos for spending the time in convention lectures, they may be boring but I've picked up some good info in them as I am sure you have. It's just frustration on my part, I can't understand why people don't take the business end serioiusly until something like this happens. And then everyone acts surprised about reg's that have been being discussed for over a year. If you can't save some money to consult with an attny of your choice in a years time but you can travel to a convention and party well beyond your means. It truly is time to shut your operation down. ( not directed at you bro in general).
