no way - whoever the new Attorney General would have been would have put 2257 on the back burner. none of this would be happening.

This stuff is coming from BOTH sides, much as you would like to think otherwise. This was going to happen either way.

these 2257 changes came from a Republican Attorney General and will come into law under another Republican Attorney General.

don't be vague - if you have Democrat initiatives as onerous as these changes which are an obvious attempt to do an end around getting impossible obscenity convictions against people then please post them here.

like one or two people before have said, you have to consider that these congressmen and women have been getting the SAME VOLUMES of explicit in your face spam for years that everyone else has, how long do you honestly think they were going to sit back and let it continue?

I am actually working....I just check in once in a while,and I don't have time to pull it all out in the middle of the day, but if you look at the statements of both parties during discussions, commitees, etc.... it is clear that this type of thing would be going on regardless, sponsored by WHATEVER party had power.

There is just too much grass roots pressure, and politicians want to get votes and keep votes, so they tend to do what their constituancies want. :2 cents:

Yeah, the 2257 regs were up for changes for a very long time... it might not have happened right now with Kerry but it still would have happened.

The only one who did not appoint was the Virgin General, Janet Reno.

After that, both parties were under too much pressure and had to enact and legislate and enforce.

It would not have made any difference had Kerry been elected. The slope was already slipping.
