Just wasted 10 seconds of my life.
Stupid thread. |

Not even related to the current situation that's about stealing

Wrong Did you read the article? Gonzales, the Justice Department It's a shinning example that they will shut down sites that violate their regulations, just like 2257. It's very possible sites with no 2257 will be seeing that in the next 30days or so, time will tell :pimp |
You are going to see a ton of tings getting out of hand rally fast.

I paid to see the movie in the theaters...if I wanna download to watch it again I wont feel too guilty
|
Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe they'll shut down a few password hacking sites too.
Cheap ass bastards, pay for your shit |
Men are 6 times more likely to be struck by lightning than women!
|
its kind of funny watching you broke hippies complain about an illegal service being shut down.
the complaining usually comes from the same people that are in this industry for nothing more than beer money. |

Well that has nothing to do with 2257 other than to point out the fact that the feds can move on your ass QUICK if they wish to do so.

I'm glad I've had my shit in order since I started this business. A little more indexing and we'll be done :pimp Then again you can follow all the regulations, have a legal business, get raided, be in court for five years, have your life turned upside down, only to be found innocent in the end... like what happened to Mike Jones |

That's like the 20th torrent site to go down in a few months. It doesn't have shit to do with shit concerning 2257. Only that the MCPAA got their whip cracking on torrent sites.

Yes and the DOJ was able to shut that site down within DAYS. So don't they then have the SAME power to do that with any site not complying with 2257? |
Quote:
That's my point :thumbsup |

How about you read it? I meant MPAA in the original post, too many acronyms these days. :upsidedow |

I didn't say anything about them assisting.. I said "It wasn't the MCPAA that shut them down" |
The feds probably shut down sites all day everyday.. They just like to get the word out about the file sharing sites to discourage the practice..
But to say "it's already begun"; trying to associate the actions with 2257 is a bit off the wall.. IMO.. The DOJ has LOTS more than just 2257 on the table... |
Quote:
It's just an example of the DOJ and their ability to shut down a site that violates their regs. I wonder if sites that don't have 2257 statements will be shut down the same way after the June deadline? |
Quote:

well, why shouldn't they shut it down? the fuckers were stealing, which has been illegal in the u.s. always. and most of us are happy that people aren't supposed to steal from us...

and I have been in this business for 10 years as of November this year. Nothing has already started and if you have been around that long you should know better that the Feds cant do a thing regarding the new 2257 until after 30 days since it was submitted !! The Free Speech and webmasters already intend on submitting an injunction -and will attempt to lock this up in court for some time. Stop acting like you know everything and anything regarding the legal system and spreading fear. This is an extremely difficult time in the industry and loose cannons such as yourself creating panic doesnt help. Start by spreading truth, and if you dont know what that is - then contact Free Speech yourself and act like a responsible adult and adult webmasters. If you would have had your own lawyer they would have already told you the same thing |
has nothing to do with our industry but it must suck to be them...

I'm not spreading "fear" the story is on the front page of The Drudge Report today! If you feel the DOJ shutting down file sharing sites has nothing to do with the plans they have for the adult industry then that's your problem. If you haven't visited the DOJ website and found the new Obscenity Prosecution Newsletter ( first release Spring 2005 ) then that's your problem. Informing people of the actual moves of the DOJ is important.. not a scare tactict. |
