damn, I thought they would actually buck the trend and not pick a safe pop singer again. I haven't been following it much but I saw it tonight and I thought this chick was just average pop singer material - more of the same. At least that Bo Bice had an original style.

This underwood chick did plenty of non-country songs during the competition, and her own originals that she also performed sounded definitely to be as much pop as country.

Bo was great, but I think the people that go out and actually call and vote are more into the all american girl type vs the long haired rocker dude type.

I agree with you. Bo has a ton of talent. So does Carrie. It just comes down to who America likes the most. Fortunately for Bo, he'll do well without winning American Idol.

yes, I am a vocalist first, and then a producer and I play piano/keyboards. Everyone has their "thing", music is mine, other then my business, music is my main interest. Just like some guys are sports experts or car enthusiasts or porn addicts, hehe, music is my passion and area of expertise.

Music (singing) is also my "thing" but, again, I would never claim to be an expert. We're all entitled to our own opinion. I don't agree with you on the pop-country comment. However, I respect your opinion and hope you would do the same with mine. I truly believe that Carrie has talent and will do well in the country genre. Bo will also do well. They're both extremely talented.

I dont get the Carrie looks like Kelly talk, I knew Kelly before she was on Idol. Dont think they look anything alike.

I mean honestly I stated in the very first post that I haven't seen the whole season - maybe she's country to the bone - I don't know - I only have tonight and like one other episode to judge - yea, it was a generalization - but the point is she's the pretty "all-american" apple pie singer who's not pushing any boundaries or taking any chances. That style just doesn't turn me on - Bo had some edge and thus deserves more respect in my book.

It's all a matter of taste - I'm sure she'll go multi-platinum, but to me it's just more of the same. And, like people in the industry who make decisions about a singer or band based on the first 30 seconds of hearing them, based on what I've heard I'm not impressed. :2 cents:
