Sponsor closes their sites because of new 2257 (BadGirlBucks)

Just got this e-mail from a sponsor:

After careful consideration, MissyMonroe18.com & SusieTease.com will no longer be accepting new sales as of June 1st, 2005. We have decided to remove these 2 sites from our program due to the recent signing of the new 2257 regulations. We will continue to produce "non-explicit" tease sites for you to promote.

There is "no need" to remove your links to MissyMonroe18.com & SusieTease.com, as we will be redirecting all traffic from these sites to other sites in our network as of June 1st. The members area of each site will continue to be accessible until all members have cancelled. You will continue to receive credit for any and all rebills. You will continue to receive credit for every person you send.

We value you as an affiliate and will continue to help make you the most money on your traffic.

All of our other sites will continue to operate as is.
Thank you for promoting BadGirlBucks!

Damn, that sucks big time. I'm wondering why they are closing their doors..

Phoenix 05-24-2005 11:11 AM

they closed just two sites..and wisely

looks like they will continue to operate their other sites?

a proper title would have been.."some" of their sites

;)

FunForOne 05-24-2005 11:12 AM

I wonder if the 2257 regulation might end up being a scape goat for under-performing sites as well.

StuartD 05-24-2005 11:15 AM

yeah, they definitely have more than 2 sites... so they're not closed by any means. Just shutting down 2 of their sites.

I once had to "remind" them to put a 2257 statement on an already published site. Makes me really wonder about them.

cherrylula 05-24-2005 11:39 AM

geez, well bye bye links to all their sites then. And I just started getting SE traffic too, awww shucks.

what's with all these reckless solo girl sites? More people who don't want to pay the girl to keep up the site I suppose. Gee, go figure they have to take them down.

The problem, as I see it, is that many of the people who are launching these solo girl sites are doing so because they have seen programs such as Lightspeed who are successful with solo sites.

Many of these new sites are run by people who have no traffic, no money to buy traffic, and do not have an established affiliate base.

Because of this, the sites under perform. The site owners do not make much money with them and it's difficult to justify the continued expense of producing updates when the dollars are not coming in as they expected.

This is a common newbie mistake.

Nah... I know that's what you were getting a hard-on for though. It makes me wonder if anyone is paying attention.. to things such as coding.

In my opinion, very few girls are qualified to run a solo site. They have to have that "I"ve got to see more of her" appeal. It takes more than beauty to pull that off. Part of that is in the implied personallity of the girl.

Also, I imagine to stay profitable, they have to go out of their way to make the site interactive and keep members. Generally, in business, is cheaper to keep the customers you have than to get new ones.

There is a solo gal on gfy with big boobs and blonde hair that does it correctly.

I'm thinking the same thing. Why that sponsor close only 2 sites? That smell not good at all.

detoxed 05-24-2005 11:57 AM

I love solo girls

fris 05-24-2005 11:59 AM

they bought their content off simon synester. why do you think? :)

Turf 05-24-2005 12:02 PM

without having seen the members area i would say that they must have another reason for closing down those 2 sites.. they are pretty non risque if you ask me..

eroswebmaster 05-24-2005 12:03 PM

LOL why shut down missymonroe.com it's not like you couldn't get the 2557 info...she's here in Vegas.

good post

solo girl sites with revshare programs are a dime a dozen these days, unless you got a lot of your own traffic i think you will be in deep shit trying to get affilates.

James White 05-24-2005 12:11 PM

BadGirlBucks is a really good program, ive talked to the owners for a long time now, they have a VERY tight program as far as i have seen. They have told me they do everything inhouse, is this not true?

I checked out the 2 sites that they are closing down. Neither girl was worth a solo site in the first place.

Although NONE of the sites of theirs that I looked at contain a legal 2257 declaration, the Missy Monroe site specifically mentions "SYNISTER FILMS" which tells me that they are not producing this stuff in house.

Nickatilynx 05-24-2005 12:54 PM

I gotta agree with Aaron on this.

But if anyone wants to sell me sites , I may be buying , so nice being in Canada ,eh :)

So very correct. You can make any site convert, ugly, fat, whatever if you have traffic and a budget to make it happen. Starting a new program, with no traffic and no money behind it is bound to fail. Theres way to many established site options out there for the little guy to just throw up a site and expect traffic and sales to be there. Some serious players are getting into this market, programs with the resources it takes to really make it happen. They have the traffic, backend and budget. This market is going to get very interesting over the next 6 months.

Point being, if you cant send at least 10k a day of traffic to the site, day one on your own, then you should rethink this market or any market for that matter.

crockett 05-24-2005 01:08 PM

The reason it was only those two sites from the looks of it, is because those two were their only "nude" sites. The rest are all non-nude tease sites.. They also probably don't preform as well being most of their affiliates are probably NN webmasters as they are their own little niche..

I laughed at this part too. "There is 'no need' to remove your links to MissyMonroe18.com & SusieTease.com, as we will be redirecting all traffic from these sites to other sites in our network as of June 1st."

Yes.. surfers like misleading and dead links. :upsidedow

Very few of their sites require a legal 2257 declaration in the first place :2 cents:
