And from what I understand... the smaller guys seem to follow what the bigger guys do. I was disheartened for awhile because getting people to promote our product was harder then I expected.

I (naively) thought that having a good product that sold well and included all the usual selling points like rev share, good payouts, reliability etc. was enough. Boy was i wrong !

Any thoughts ?

Is that for when they renewal or is that for when the they signup from a sponsor they find in your software?

That's if they upgrade our software. Until a few weeks ago, we had a 30-day trial that cost $13. After the 30 days, if a user upgraded to the other versions, the affiliate got his share of the upgrade as well.

However, we stopped offering the 30-day trial recently, because we realized that if it wasn't available, most customers would be just as happy to buy the $28 or $40 versions.

However, we have some other products in our pipeline, and if someone who bought MILTON buys any other software that we offer, the affiliate will get his cut of that too.

But for now, that recurring sales is just going to be if they upgrade after the 1-year version expires.

Sorry for the delayed response. Well, we currently sell an adult search utility. It integrates with windows explorer, firefox, and IE (Netscape 8 integration in the works) so that you can right-click on an image and search for images that are similar or from the same photoset. Or you can just load up the program and browse for an image, drag and drop, etc.. The point is, it's a porn search engine that allows you to search using actual images. Of course, it also does keyword searches like many websites. The difference is, it's highly targetted and has possibly the largest collection of image and movie galleries on the web. 1.4 million at last count.

As mentioned above, we spent a lot of time working on our affiliate system. You can log in and look around at http://www.miltonsoft.com/affiliate/ - just click "go" to use the demo account. The features we're most proud of are:

- Auto-optimizing banner system - shows the banners that perform best on your site more often

Note that we're still adding features to the affiliate system. One thing we're considering is sales notification via email. I'm just not sure if there's enough interest to justify implementing it.
