Actually the new 2257 regs are but part of the picture. I?ve been toying for a while with the idea of getting out of the business anyway. The bulk of my business by far is non-adult. I?ve got a couple important leads for new non adult businesses I have been sitting on, as adult increasingly takes more and more of my time.

And my wife and family, while supportive, would be happier about the whole thing if I dropped the adult business line anyway.

www.fareastmedia.com is quite a successful little niche site, really the only ?spanked and fucked? site on the Internet and doing quite well. Its revenues are a little over 100K and include about 45 movies and a smaller number of dvds. Membership hovers at around 600 members. Somebody working full time on it surely could do a lot better as it has been under-promoted.

2257 wise, all of the content is produced in-house and the docs are available. If any site were going to be relatively easily made compliant, this is the one.

Included with the sale are about 44 movies, the domain name, a toplist, the dvd domain name, etc. Also about 10 unedited movies awaiting production on mini-dv tape, the library of cd masters, etc.

The cost of producing 55 movies alone at an average about $1200 each is $60,000. I?ve decided to sell the site at the best offer over that. Note I am specifically not interested in any payment plans, partners, etc. Out means out. You pay the cash and you get everything.

Its something like that, after merchant fees, ccbill, etc. Hosting is minimal, a few hundred bucks a month at Candid. Of course you would have ongoing shoot costs to update it, but amazingly, I kept great retention even only updating once a month or so - you could use the 10 unedited movies to keep it going almost a year.

Just to make it clear as somebody asked me, you get the whole site and all the web content, and you get it exclusively.

:1orglaugh I don't think I am going to be getting a decent price. If I just did nothing and let the site wither, I could probably still collect far far more than my asking price. So I am not happy about this.

what does the 'far east' mean? did you have an asian site on there?

Its been discussed ad nauseam, but I agree its a stupid name for the website coined when I didn't know better, and I just kept the name ever since.

A little more information I have been asked:

1. All the content is exclusive. Its not available anywhere else. A couple VODs have a few of the movies and those contracts would be assigned to you - you can pull the content at any time or keep the few bucks a month.

2. Timing wise, the sale has to be completed soon.

Since I use CCBill, I don't have acess to the credit card numbers for rebill. I don't know if ccbill will work out something and transfer the rebills to you; I assume not. My suggestion would be for me to terminate all the members the day of the sale, at the end of their membership month. - I can provide you with all the emails addresses and/or email them with the new signup links. Most of the members are loyal fans - last time I changed processors I didn't loose many, if any at all. You can't get this stuff anywhere else.

You can transfer ownership of the ccbill account to the purchaser, as long as they qualify to be a sponsored merchant. Not only will the buyer get the content & design, but your rebill base (and emails); which should make the sale much more attractive

Its a hardcore spanking site, with 2/3 of the videos including boy/girl and many including anal. Content is 44 (55 including the unedited content) movies, each about 35 - 40 minutes and split into 5 minute clips. Most are also available as a single file download in Windows Media and Real Media.

No filler, all good shit.

When our company spoke to you about buying a year or so ago when you last wanted out we came up with a firm offer that was presently above your current offer and it had roughly the same amount of content.
You seemed serious until the offer was at hand, then you pulled a "I will think it over more" rutine and carried on doing business with a free appraisal as well.
Any certainties that you will not do the same thing yet again? We really do not wish to run up more accounting hours only to be shot down when you decide that you wish to keep it.

Hi am sorry I do not recall what its was I found lacking in your offer, honestly. I can say I have 3 other businesses to run and have no desire to waste any time negotiating deals that fall through.

To be honest, I feel that 60K is indeed a fire sale price, given what the site pulls in and what it could do with a helmsman more experienced than me. I certainly hope that offers come up higher than that.

I can't pre-promise to accept your offer, but I can tell everyone for sure that if I get the right offer now, the site is yours. If you make a decent enough offer you can have the site tomorrow.

Nobody could ask you to guarentee to accept their offer. What I wanted to make sure of is that if you get an offer of 60k or higher that you will indeed sell to the highest bidder under your terms of no payment plans, profit sharing, and so on.

You have my word. The only thing I cannot promise, if if the industry comes up with an injunction and I have no signed contract, I might not be in a hurry. But considering this deal could eaily close in a few days or a week at most, anybody wanting the site can get in well ahead of that. I expect an injunction before June 23, but like I said, this is not the only reason I am selling, its just a push for it.

Yeah. Its a nice site for erotic/softcore spanking & the combination with more directly sexual things probably makes it even more unique & attractive to that particular niche.

Yes it was. I didn't get the offer I wanted back then, and decided not to sell. I've always kind of had a love/hate thing going with porn. Its an easy business and a cash cow, but it doesn't work well with my other businesses. I've had some cusomers and neighbors find out about the porn, which created some headaches.

Just want to say thanks for everyone's nice comments about the site. The sale is closing now and barring any last minute complications will go at above my minimum asking price, so unless the deal falls through (seems unlikely) it looks like a done event.
