yup, the boyfriend likes that show too, so i catch parts of episodes.
interesting to see how much crab is actually out there. |
No, but I harpooned a Barracuda off of the Coast of Isla and the local restaurant deep fried it for me for 30 pesos :)
. . |
Oops..I think I've missed the last couple.
You would have to half nuts to get on one of those boats, ice storms at sea? Not for me thanks. |
The show says some of those guys make 40 grand in three days not sure its worth risking your life over but im damn glad they do it cuz king crab is the shit
|
My dads cousin lost his life about 10 years ago doing exactly that. Went over board..Never saw him again
|
I wanted to see that, but we dont have an antenna or cable.

im sorry to hear that :( |
yea,,,it's great,,,they get $5 per pound and the average keeper is 6 pounds,,,so that $30 mim per crab.
no wonder all the crew freaks out when 1 pod brings in over 100 crabs. The one boat last time made like 450k for 3 days of crabbin. |
Those guys can potentially make 100k for one weeks work. The problem is not only is it extremely dangerous, but they have to deal with working on an icy boat while they are deprived of sleep. One slip and your dead, not worth the risk to me.

I watched the first few episodes but they seemed like the same "story" over and over again. Plus I was getting a little seasick!
