Using typo domains to promote the sponsor. Legal issues?

For example. I register bangbuss.com and redirect it to bangbus.com with my bangbus affiliate code or register ebat.com and redirect it to ebay.com with my ebay affiliate code. Anyone see a serious issue in this? Would sponsors care that much? Would there be any better use with less legal risk for a high traffic mainstream typo domain? Hope to get some advise

Ive done that a bunch of times, never had a problem as long as Im promoting the sponsor whose name I copied.

Most would not mind, if you promoted a company that was in competition with them, then they would start getting bitchy.

I got an email from Ebay threatening to terminate my ebay affiliate account because they thought I had purchased a ppc term similar to "ebay" . I know for a fact that you cant purchase ppc typos but I'm not sure about typo domain names. You might want to read the TOS at CJ.

Thanks, I guess it depends on the company and their marketing plan
