Remember when I was hyped about .in domains

Interesting as the resales are starting to come in.

Good thread on domainstate about it. I guess I can't post the link here, but it's worth checking out for anyone who bought .in or .co.in domains.

:thumbsup

.in domains are set to be huge.

all the naysayers will end up kicking themselves the same way they did when they missed out on the dot coms.

polish_aristocrat 05-23-2005 06:46 AM

fuck .in i am waiting for .eu

.eu is tiny compared to .in

.eu ext is going to be worse than equivalent to .us in the usa
europeans already use dot com or local country extension so for most .eu will be a last choice or official usage.

in india, .in will be better than .co.uk is in the uk and for some, better even than .com which is what puts it up at the top.

i respectfully disagree

DomBuyer 05-23-2005 06:55 AM

For now, the .co.in's do better than the .in's. It remains to see how much traffic will flow to the .ins.

thats why youll fail in domains.

someone who doesnt understand the domain market is someone who helps me get my domains in valuable extensions by not joining the game.

india fast growing economy
india english speaking population
india labour for most of worlds outsourcing needs
india hard working, well educated work force
india receiving huge inward investment from outside
india very online and net savvy

India.. where they will hire 30 guys with a palm leaf to sweep a stage before even considering spending money on a push broom.

They are very close to the top 10 biggest economies, if not there already. In twenty years they may be in the top 5.

Fake Nick 05-23-2005 11:51 AM

I have a GREAT .in domain :)

Greg Jacobson 05-23-2005 12:43 PM

I am no expert in domains but many .eu domains that already have tons of pre-registrations are still available in .in

That has got to say something about demand. Demand for .in 5 or 10 years from now might be much higher than .eu though.

I have some .in domains and I hope they do well but I am going to be banking more on the .eu extention.

thats because it probably is in the top 10. most of the naysayers on this thread are ignorant, know nothing about india or have never been there. it amazes me how many people think india is still a third world country.

Its a developing country and has changed a huge amount in the last 5 years.

gxer 05-23-2005 02:01 PM

FreeDomains.in
WebAccess.in

for sale

Antonio 05-23-2005 05:36 PM

developing country = third world country

And just like every other developing country only about 10-20% of the people are very well educated, and relatively well off. I have to agree with you that it has one of the fastest growing economies in the world, but trust me .eu will be better priced than in. I'll trade porn.in for porn.eu any time (I don't own porn.in but I have a GREAT .in domain too).

IMO you shouldn?t be selling your .in domains now !!!

mastamindz 05-23-2005 05:45 PM

meh.
I don't see it happening.

nofx 05-23-2005 05:56 PM

anyone want heroin.in ?

contact me ;)

You sound like someone who's grown up there.. am i correct?

It's true there are lots of people who are hungry, but it is not correct that they are uneducated. People from south-east asia are some of the smartest people in the world, as i'm sure you would agree.

Being from that country, I was smart enough to pick up some domains. If it works, that's great.. if it doesn't, then I only lose out on a few grand, big fucking deal.. but hey, if you're not willing to take the risk, you shouldn't be an entrepreneur.

Case closed.

I got some cool .in domains as well..

robotech.in
findsex.in
locals.in
scientists.in
musiq.in
VideoTapes.in

etc..

No, I've never been to India in my life, but I've read a lot about it (not only 'City of Joy' ), met a lot of Indian people in my life (pretty big community here in South Africa too), as far as the in domains are concerned I think that their value will most probably increase, the funny thing is that most of the people went for the porn related domains and completely ignored the mainstream ones.

Funky Bastard 05-23-2005 07:24 PM

.com forever and .co.uk is getting up their everything else is worthless I am waiting for .xxx

english speaking.... are you on crack?

English is an international language. In India, you have to pass a board exam in the 5th grade, the same level of education you get in high school in the US.

It's another thing the government is corrupt, but its another being uneducated. If you knew the level of intelligence they have to have to get anywhere, you would feel like a homosapien with no knowledge of the modern world. The fact that either you have to be super smart, or super rich (for bribery) to get a job after you graduate from college, the people have to undergo extensive training and examinations of subjects that you wouldn't dream to think about.

Some of you are real tools that don't think other countries are progressing at all.

Can't blame anyone though, people have the tendency to talk about the things they have no clue about.

Hue G. Pness 05-23-2005 08:59 PM

I picked up some very nice .in domain names. Waiting to see what will happen with them now.

Veterans Day 05-23-2005 09:39 PM

singlewomen.in
vicepresident.in

:winkwink: :winkwink:

pornguy 05-23-2005 10:08 PM
