PostWhore - I think it has more to do with kids/teens being able to access it than with technology. I could be wrong, but I believe that was the reason I was given when I asked around.

You can't bill via SMS in the US right now, for adult anyway.

The phone companies are concerned about the bad press, so they aren't allowing it. You might be able to get away with adult chat or something like that, but mostly it's just for selling ringtones and games right now.

The US audiotext industry is starting to get into the sms biz. You can signup with Utel Network and get local chat sms or date sms. Nothing adult yet but things will change soon.
