A friend of mine once told me that a famous socialologist (i think) had said.

Whatever you think about or what ever idea you come up with, someone else has always thought about it first.

Do you agree with this?
I think, maybe this is true but it's what you do after you come up with the idea that matters..

Ideas alone are worthless, so who cares who came up with it first.

It's those who can implement and capitalize on the idea that matter.

But do you believe that what ever you think about and whatever sordid idea enters your head or what sick twisted thing you thing has already been thought about by someone else?

Like when I posted in another thread about wanting to play paddy-cake, then toss powdered donut holes at a hot chicks breasts only to lick off the residue before fucking her tits and giving her a pearl necklace?

Or thinking I'd like to shove, hot, pink Titleist golf balls up Daphney's ass while shrooming my balls off in the back of the Mystery Machine?

Or thoughts about skimming the ocean surface on a rocket powered BigWheel while corking shut the blowholes of endangered whale species?

Do I think at least one person has already thought those thoughts? Fuck. I hope not.

Almost all sociologists are idiots, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that this particular statement is logically invalid. There is absolutely no reason why you couldn't be the person who thinks of something for the first time. Someone has to, and that may well be you.

Maybe many people had thought about the idea of the lightbulb but didn't have the funds or maybe lots of people knew they needed something round to move those damn rocks but never put 2+2 together..

yes, however most thinkers aren't do'ers so it really comes down to who has the cogs to push forward and follow through
