PHP Adsnew?

I wanted to ask people who use this program....is there a "hit counter" in the package?

i.e. I install it on the server and I can count unique hits to our hosted galleries and such without having to put a javascript counter on the pages?

Not built in... I mean there is a beacon image and I suppose you could set it up to do such, but you'd still need the code on each gallery. Alternately, you could run the gallery hits through phpadsnew... as a text link "ad", but it just seems that it would be a silly thing to do. It is a great program but a bit of a resource hog to use as just a counter. If the galleries are .php, just include a header or footer using a counter... or just get some server stats package.

We have server stats of course....although they don't tell me which TGP is sending traffic to which page, which templates are getting the most traffic, which are getting the best click thru....etc etc.

Also we need some sort of counter for the galleries we submit that gives us info similar to what we get from paycounter.....although using paycounter limits the places you can submit to.

So I'm looking for a paid solution similar to what I get by using paycounter.

if you don't mind a tiny little bit of code on each page that is invisible to the user, go with CNStats....fucking incredible program and tracks like a mother fucker page by page

Where can I find that? Also, is it javascript?
That's the main reason I'm looking for a replacement for paycounter.

Jace - this prog is cool. Thanks for posting this.

I grabbed the free version and had it up and running in about 20 minutes, adding the code to three main php pages on my site.

I had to change the tracking code's "include" line to use "require", though that's pretty simple. I also added the line within existing PHP code - it was giving me that "already returned headers" error when I tried to use it in it's own block. I guess I could play with the positioning of the code on the page, but wanting to have it on top, this seems best.

It's got a bug in the Site Attendance report - divide by 0 error, and I'm waiting to hear back from support. It could be that it needs to build up data for a minimum time period.. we'll see.

Other than that, it's frickin' awesome. Talk about details.. Real-time data rocks. No real impact on the server that I can see, either.

The only drawback is that for people without techie skills, it would be a bitch to know where and how to put the tracking code. My site runs on about 100 php scripts, and some are included into others. Knowing where to put it could be difficult.

After I hear back from support, I'll probably buy this for all my sites.

hmmm......... i like the looks of CNStats - does it use up alot of resources?

easy to install for somebody who isn't a geek but does know how to install a script?

That CN looks like they modeled it like AWStats.
