People who refer to others as "Guy" ie: "Hey Guy"
stop it, it's really fucking annoying and sounds stupid.
|
hey guy..what are you talking about?
|
yes, use something more sophisticated, like 'dude'.
|
you can allways use m8...
|
I usually call people all kinds of names:
slick, killer, ace, bro, stud, fucko, big guy, speedy, flash, handsome, tiny, smiley, etc etc etc |

What about idiots who say "dude" to their girl friends? I see this all the time on shows like Elimidate and Blind Date.
A dude is a guy, not a chick. Today's college crowd is fuckered. |

always makes me cringe |

"Guy" doesn't make me cringe. It's "bro" that does.
Anyone that thinks I'm his "bro" and/or complicates a handshake piss me off. |

The worst, IMHO, are people who overuse the term BUDDY.

This thread is funny.
I don't really like being called "guy, pal, or buddy" either. Buddy isn't too bad when it's actually a good friend..but the others just seem too old school lingo. Plus saying "hey guy or hey pal" just sounds a bit condescending to me. Hehehe.. I actually use "dude and bro" a lot. Sometimes I'll even call close girl-friends dude too...just cause I'm speaking comfortably and it's my thing. And ya I'm in California so that's probably why, lol. |
