Where to report CP/KP?
 

where all do you report CP (chi*d po*n)? is the asacp the only viable place to report this kind of stuff? does the justice department have a site to report to them directly? i just got a really disturbing e-mail thru aol and the only place i can find to report it is the asacp... where else can I report it? the asacp doesn't even let you report an e-mail addy... this isn't anything to do with the 2257 regs this is a serious question the e-mail i got is very disturbing and i don't really want to let it go with one report the the asacp

the heading is Real CHiLD P(0)R-NO... am I just supposed to delete that and let it go? i'm not clicking thru to any sites but i have a url and an e-mail addy to start with.... I would rather do something rather than just forget about it

If the email leads to a site find the host and make the host shut it down.

a whois gave me nothing and it isn't my job to try to shut them down.... not to mention I don't want to poke around too much as the laws are pretty strict and I don't want my ass in a sling for trying to report something... there really should be better avenues to report and deal with this stuff... the aol live help won't even come online when trying to ask them about it

Yes, you should have just deleted it. At this point, all you have is text. No proof of real CP. Since you were curious enough to read the email...Go ahead and click the links while you're at it.

1. that email is send through a proxy im sure
2. the site is hosted in nonoland and they use a dns forwarder who cannot be held responseble (like the hushfuckers)
3. the isp is prolly some woopiefloopie isp in lalaland as well or worse an inetcafe

i report anything that even infers CP to the asacp.... i thought maybe somebody would have more places to report it to... the text in the e-mail was rather dusturbing to me and I would like to report whatever I can to have somebody look into it... do you not agree with that?

yeah i realize it may be a moot point but i would rather take a proactive stance than just deleting it for somebody else to worry about... it is frustrating to me that there are not easier avenues to report questionable sites

No, I don't agree with that.

Text is not CP. In fact, most of the sites that people report to ASACP are not even CP. The unnecessary reporting of what people THINK is CP makes for a bigger work load for organizations like ASACP.

Either it's CP or it's not. Personally, I don't believe in reading possible CP related emails or wasting the valuable time of others by reporting non CP things to them.

But maybe I'm just silly like that.

Good luck with that. I have reported several cases of what I thought was CP, but was wrong it seems.

ASCAP told me once when I submitted a site that had close up pics of genitals of LITTLE (and I mean little) girls, that they could not determine if the girl was underage or not and could not do anything more. Fucking pathetic. I guess they have to be getting raped in the ass by a mule and have statements on the site that the girls are underage before they will act. Last I read the law if the focus is on the genitals, it is CP if the girl is clearly under age... go figure.

But don't worry, the new 2257 regulations will fix everything. :Oh crap

yeah I actually just talked to somebody on another board that used to work for the DOD and even he said that the process is a joke if you can even get thru it... but oh yes the new regs if they go thru as written before will fix everything :thumbsup

my feelings too... you would think with the push for all the new regs that will "protect children" that the gov't would have a system in place to report stuff like this.... if they do nobody seems to be able to find it :Oh crap after the asacp the next option seems to be contacting the local FBI office which is not gonna do any good with internet cases that can be a global problem... i've been looking and so far one of the options was a site advertising to protect children but then had a Selma Hayek link on the second page with a Mr.Skin referral

I got that same email too. I just hit delete without preview. Do the same. it's bad enough I come across some pretty disgusting sites on a weekly basis from TGP trades, I don;t want to view it in my email.

Nothing you can do about it. Email is most likely never tracable and if it is you can bet it's just some foreign twit fishing for credit card #'s.
