2257 made easy...

Lets assume that the big maerican companies are going to comply. Now go to a big adult site. Using cum fiesta for the example -

http://cumfiesta.com/main.htm?id=

They have this at the bottom of the page -

All girls appearing on this website are 18 years or older. Click here for records required pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 2257 Statement. By entering this site you swear that you are of legal age in your area to view adult material and that you wish to view such material. All images on this site as well as the site itself is Copyright Adultprovide.com, all rights reserved.

The "click here" links to -

http://service.adultprovide.com/docs/records.htm

can't I just do the same thing if I am displaying ND content? and repeat it for all of my sponsors?

dready 05-19-2005 11:45 AM

That would work great for the OLD 2257 law. :1orglaugh

You know you've been required to do that for years now!?

sumphatpimp 05-19-2005 11:47 AM

slapass 05-19-2005 11:49 AM

How do you know? Have you actually seen what was signed or just what was proposed?

Mr.Fiction 05-19-2005 11:52 AM

Are you hosting the content or are you talking about content hosted by Nasty Dollars?

I doubt what was proposed and what is actually the new rules is very different from each other. I mean why would Bush give us any kind of break.

And what exactly does bush have to do with these regulations?

He didn't write or approve the proposed regs nor did he sign the current ones.

This isn't a Bush issue.

Well, most proposed laws are drastically different when they are actually signed.

But most proposed laws go through a much longer process between the draft and the actual passing of the law than these ones did.

slapass 05-19-2005 12:52 PM

The biggest issue the proposed has is the paper work. Every url has to be recorded and cross referenced. This might be easily solved by the paysite having a data collection page. We input the id number of the set and the url, we plaed it on. It then adds it to the database. We link the database on our page. It says the main url has to link to the database. So you could link to the 2257 pages off the main. and each page if you were anal (wanted to be safe).

Who drew up the rules? Ashcroft. Who signed the rules Gonzales. WHO put both of these guys in their jobs? BUSH. Say Bush had an AG that didn't give a rats ass about porn and just wanted to focus on REAL criminals. Or if Gore had won in 2000. Then these rules never would have existed.

Actually the Clinton administration drew up and signed the rules. The Bush administration came up with the revisions in 2004.

They never became law. As Janet Reno said in a PBS interview in 2002 about porn "We had better things to do than go after obscenity"

So wrong, so wrong. Put blame wherever you want, but it is a GOVERNMENT ISSUE, not a party issue. If it makes you feel better, bash away.

Of you could just get compliant, your choice.
