I just saw an ad for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Are we running out of ideas? It seems like there have been a lot of remakes lately.

There'll always be the Americans Save The World genre, don't worry.

I think the remakes are great. Can't wait to see Bewitched and The Dukes of Hazards.

theres plenty of good indie films made people just dont watch them, they expect the "theatres" to bring them good cinema. Not the case, hollywood dictates what you watch

creativity always goes in cycles

there are a lot of great, original films out there, but the problem is they seldomly make it to theaters...theater chains are now owned by a handful of large companies who only care about packing as many people into a theater is possible and could give a shit about quality, originality or even comfort (have you seen the size of some of these theaters? I have a bigger screen with my HDTV than some theaters seem to have these days).

Don't be afraid to look beyond your borders for good movies. There are a ton of great, original moves for those who aren't afraid to read subtitles...

People in hollywood aren't worried about making good movies, they're just worried about their image.
