Large transactions using Epassporte....Anything to worry about?

We are doing a rather large international deal. For such a transaction your options are limited...

The client and I have talked about doing Epassporte. Its a large enough deal that I am not real concerned with theh 100 bucks it will end up costing to transfer to our bank account...

So...is there anything we need to look out for...i dont want to see the funds in our epass...release the product and then somehow get screwed...

I trust the client but you can never be too careful...

Anyone have any insight?

How large?

WiredGuy 05-19-2005 12:14 AM

If its that sizeable, what about a wire transfer? $100 in bank fees sound about right for a wire as well.

I was trying to send someone 5k and they wanted way too much info to do it(had to do some weird verification thing). Plus the cost's are so high. Id just wire it.

I'd go with bank wire. Why would you involve a third party?

The quick and easy aspect...have it done...move forward with the contract versus waiting for an international wire transfer

www.escrow.com

crackerboy 05-19-2005 01:20 AM

but if you are worried why take the chance?
do it by wire and its safe
yes it will take a few days but does that really matter?
Or talk to rand i am sure he will help you in anyway he can

BlueWire 05-19-2005 01:23 AM

Anyone have the epass guy's contact info? Its worth atleast seeing what they have to say I figure...

crackerboy 05-19-2005 01:25 AM

Rand @ ePassporte.com
is his email if i am not wrong

theFeTiShLaDy 05-19-2005 01:45 AM

i think for 5 figures amount...better deal with a bank..do it via wire transfer.

BRISK 05-19-2005 01:47 AM

I think epassporte is really best for payments under $5000, anything over that and I would go with escrow or wire transfer.

BlueWire 05-19-2005 01:50 AM

Okay...maybe bank is the way to go...

Is there anything you need to be worried about in giving out bank accoutn #'s and routing #'s etc... ?

SomeCreep 05-19-2005 01:52 AM

Use an escrow service.

Escrow.com is a good one.

I worked in wholesale import/export brokerage about 5 years ago and there were major problems with escrow.com back then...I wonder if all thats been fixed up

BlueWire 05-19-2005 01:53 AM

I think it will all be a mute point...but i just dont want to make a bonehead mistake...
