It's not $3-$4, it's $4-$5 and it's a paper cup with a plastic top.

People are free to piss away their money any way they see fit. And some others are free to get a decent cup of coffee. You can stick to Maxwell House :)

STD 05-18-2005 09:39 PM

don't foget that in aperican funst which = about $7 Canadian!

Fetish 05-18-2005 09:39 PM

Not as high as $7 but you still got a valid point. It's called $tarFuck$ for a reason.

CDSmith 05-18-2005 09:53 PM

I brew my own, a 12-cup pot just about every morning..... wonderful life-giving coffeeee.

None of that faggy half-caff double espresso with extra foam and almondine sprinkles for THIS cowboy.

Espresso is really strong black coffee. Your caffè americano is what's gay.

pornguy 05-18-2005 10:40 PM

I am not much up for starfucks either. The coffee is always cold.

Could there ever be a thread where you don't seek the final word? :1orglaugh

I drink home-brewed drip grind coffee, bought in the large-sized can. Let me check.... yes currently It's Edwards world blend, packed in Canada no less.

Sorry.... definitely so not gay, ethpretho boy. :winkwink:

I see it as a moral obligation to show people the truth, whether they want to see it or not. (obviously, I'm always right)

And I'm 100% sure your home-brewed drip grind coffee from the large-sized can tastes like muddy water when compared with a nice, strong espresso :glugglug

Well you certainly do have a right to think that.

You'd be wrong, but you have that right. :1orglaugh

Dude, fact is I've tasted just about every coffee out there this old world has to offer, from your beloved "espresso" to truckstop tar-water to McDonald's death brew to Jaimacan blue mountain and many others. My machine at home is kept immaculately clean of old coffee oils and buildup, which is crucial to a good cup of joe. I can make mine as weak as weak tea or as strong as any espresso out there. I prefer a medium to moderately strong pot of coffee in the mornings, and I keep my coffee in a sealed tin covered with cellophane for extra freshness.

Yes, I'm rather picky about it.

What *I* know with 100% certainty is that my cups of coffee in the morning tastes every bit as good or better than most coffee-shop/coffee-house coffees I've had, and mine works out to about 3 cents per cup.
Figure it out.

CDSmith 05-18-2005 10:58 PM

Hey, enjoy your $5 espresso, I'm not stopping you. :D

could be true...but still...
Espresso isn't gay!...it's really stronger than a regular coffee..and it's damn good...(I do grind my own coffee and it's all good...but espresso is good too :P )

So in other words, you prefer a weak-ass cup of coffee, you have calculated what your coffee costs per cup, you spend considerable time cleaning in your kitchen and even cover things with cellophane for extra freshness?

Gay :1orglaugh

Gay :1orglaugh

No, again totally wrong.

How can someone who is obviously so educated be so wrong all the time? Amazing.

I said regular to moderately STRONG.... not weak. I have on occasion made pots of coffee that were every bit as strong as any espresso I have tasted out there. I also said that I keep my coffeemaker clean and my coffee fresh, I said nothing about my kitchen. Fact is it's pretty messy, but you had no way of knowing that. Remember, talking out your ass will get you bad breath. :D

There.... isn't something wrong with your reading comprehension is there?

Punkw, sometimes I think you'd argue about which way the...... nevermind. You would. :1orglaugh

To paraphrase Ayn Rand: if things seem illogical, check your premises :glugglug

Moderately strong = weak, when compared to very strong. Everything is relative, after all. Considerable time cleaning in your kitchen != considerable time cleaning your kitchen (I am, however, assuming your coffee machine is in your kitchen - I could be wrong about that). You coffee machine doesn't keep itself immaculately clean, does it?

I think it's your reading comprehension that needs improving :glugglug (also, the two points you conceded, calculating the cost of your coffee per cup and covering things with cellophane for extra freshness, pretty much make you a metro already http://members.shaw.ca/billy1-99/pics/gay.gif)

Oh you're just queermiffed because I called your precious little espresso gay.

Get over it. :1orglaugh

Besides, I've worked in a few large industrial workplaces in my time. My brother in law works for CN Rail, and I don't know of any working men who "love ethpretho" :1orglaugh

Real men drink coffee. 20 years ago no one ever heard of any of these fancyboy coffees.

Lastly, I would rather drink 5 or 6 good cups of my high-test regular than 2 tiny shot glasses of "espresso" any day. Drink that shit every day for years and you'll fry your heart, or did your years of edumuhcayshun not teach you that? :1orglaugh .... gawd I'm dying laughing here.

CDSmith 05-18-2005 11:34 PM

Jeebus, he's paraphrasing Ayn Rand and *I'M* the gay one? http://www.thewinnipegpages.com/foru.../killingme.gif

Okay we're both coffee lovers. Would you care to leave it at that?

Punkw, it's a pleasure as always to punkspar with you each night.
Don't ever change man. :thumbsup

My edumuhcayshun taught me to rely on facts rather than fear of the unknown (ofcourse, if espresso is unknown to you, that really says quite a lot). The facts are that italians drink espresso every day, while apparently canadians don't, and yet their life expectancies are pretty much the same.

Then again, who could blame a canadian for being a bit backward :1orglaugh

Actually, I don't really like coffee all that much. It just seemed like as good a subject as any to argue about :1orglaugh

I ditched coffee for a month and only drank tea instead. It was great the first 3 weeks, after that it was just boring. I love a cup of tea every once in a while, but not every day.
