how can I tell if someone is hitbotting my site?
 

either I got hit with a few new awesome traffic sources or someone is using a hitbot to push out "outgoing" hits on my referrer list.

I check my referrer list and the In hits are pretty much the same but the outhits are crazy...is someone hitbotting my site?

how can I tell, how can I stop it?

check for proxies with a script

check if all the hits come from very few ip adresses and then just block that one

what script?

what stats interface is best to see this?
