The exponential growth of technology might make it possible within as little as a few decades for people (at least those who can afford it) to live indefinitely. So, the question is, would you actually want to live forever?

My buddies sister died of a massive heart attack at 22,I had friends, healthy men around my age who didn't smoke or drink and in great health,exercised daily,one had a aneurysm and one died of a heart attack while jogging..While you are young ,you think you are invincible..

No, if medical technology advances far enough to keep you alive indefinitely, it will also have advanced far enough to use cell-regeneration to keep you young forever.

Advanced medical science will, in the future, be able to prevent things like heart attacks and aneurysms from happening. Nothing to do with thinking one is invincible - a car crash will still be deadly.

i'd enjoy being immortal, not many people want it though.

If i can also be super rich and just be lazy and enjoy life then sure why not.

it all depends really, if i was healthy and the closest people around me were healthy MAYBE.

the only reason i would want to live forever is lets say you die and you are given all the answers, as in i want to live and see what man kind discovers, its our discoveries that keeps things interesting.

but then to never die and see everyone i know die and me just live on would be horrible. also i want to one day know what really lies in the afterlife, its to much for mankind to comprhend and explain and that is the only reason why i would want to be face to face with it.

Just to state the obvious: if medical science is what gives you "eternal life", obviously, your loved ones can be kept alive and healthy as well.
