2257 On TGPs. Help
Now that this shit is in effect how do i go around solving the issue of 2257 info on TGP.
I mean there are hundreds of images daily rotating they dont want 2257 for each one. How is it done. Lets say im using all FHGs in a TGP. Can i have a www.tgpdomain.com/2257.html page and have the links to the 2257 of each paysite taht im promoting? |
Why not wait and find out what regulations actually got passed until you start pulling out your hair.. No one can answer you because no one knows what has been passed.. We only know what was proposed.
|
I got a DB compiled for me some time ago that contains over 1000 of the most popular paysites (and their program information) along with the correct 2257 link for 95% of them.

If all tgp now need hard copies in hand of 2257, well that is the end of the affiliates ...
Only paysites will be able to comply, with their stuff only .... |

Now I may be wrong, but IF 2257 applies to you then it CLEARlY stated in the proposals that you HAD to have actual physical copies of the 2257 info. Of course they may have changed some things since then. As I said I could be wrong |

Would be very nice if there was a list of a ton of programs and their links for their 2257 links for affiliates. Would make things alot easier, but I plan on going through all my sponsors and adding the info too all my sites as well as galleries.

Point is that if you are in the posistion of having to comply with these 2257 rules you have to have physical copies. No sponsor is going to give you that. |
I think that the sponsor needs to have the physical paperwork in hand, but affiliates just need to link to the sponsor's 2257 page.
But I'm not sure. |

No one even knows what was passed yet. People should wait before they start panicking and dismantling their sites. |

http://my.execpc.com/~xxxlaw/2257Table.htm Then you WOULD need the physical paperwork in hand. Thats why people are making this a big deal. TGPs would be considered "secondary producers" and would be required to keep physical records for each picture used on the site. Once again, no reason to freak out. No one has seen what ACTUALLY was signed yet... |
No one knows yet. If it was implemented as it was written back in the summer as a TGP owner if you have sexually explicit images on your site you need a copy of the 2257 info in your office as well as links on your site to where this info can be found (ie. name, address, phone number). However, as the law has not been published for examination this is all just speculation. Wait and see what was actually signed into law. Once it is published you have 30 days to comply. This law will be challenged as soon as it is presented. If the challenge succeeds they will have to rewrite the law or scrap it all together.
If you have a text TGP you are more than likely not affected by this law as I doubt it requires you to have 2257 info for sites you link to. If it did Google, Yahoo, etc. would also be required to have the info on hand. |
Now I'm no lawyer, but 2257 regulations only affect sexually explicit content. So don't use sexually explicit thumbs.

quit now before uncle sam/fbi gets you!
