Internet Explorer Hidding From Me, Help!

Not my day.

I formated my harddrive and reinstalled XP.

Now Internet Explorer is missing (some of you would say this is a good sign lol)

I can now only access my internet explorer thru xp update and then change the url to something else and then make a direct shortcut to the page i am browsing. (google for now)

If I look in program files > explorer i cannot find a file to help me resurrect explorer...

I went to microsoft.com and downlaoded explorer 6 but it still says that the explorer i have is newer so the other cannot be installed.

So in short:

I have explorer installed but cannot find it / make a shortcut for the desktop...

Advice needed.

Thanks

explorer is what got you in trouble in the first place.
download firefox and be done with it.

Not showing in Program Files > Internet Explorer > IEXPLORE?

If no, do a file search for IEXPLORE and if that fails then uninstall the other files in Internet Explorer and then reinstall.

My best solution is to open a beer and turn up for some music LOL!

Ok, so when you have explorer running (even if you needed to kickstart), click ALT+CTRL+DEL and see the name of the program that's running.

After that do a search for that exact program and you should find it.

Firefox would be quite better than the usual internet explorer set up dude!

SinSational 05-17-2005 09:13 PM

start menu > run > iexplore.exe
