PCsForAll.com - Fuck what a scam!

I saw this commercial during lunch for a site called pcsforall.com. They will "give" you a computer without a credit check. Check out WHAT they will give you and for how much.

* Intel® Celeron® Mobile DELL 1.5 GHz Processor
* 14.1" LCD Display
* 256 MB DDRAM Memory
* 30 GB Hard Drive
* 24X CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive
* AGP Video Card
* 2 Stereo Speakers
* 56.6K Modem
* Integrated 10/100 Networking
* Microsoft Windows XP Home
* Word Perfect Productivity Pack 12
* 65 WHr Lithium Ion Battery
* 6 months of AOL Internet/Email Service
* 1 Year In home Full Service Warranty

That is a DELL laptop... On Dell.com it is worth, $710.

You must pay 3 months worth of payments before the laptop is shipped. This equals, $551.88 which is probably what the company paid for it since they probably bought from Dell in bulk as a reseller.

When all 52 weeks of payments are made it is $2391.48!

I wonder how many single mothers out there are buying this kinda bullshit so their daughter can have a laptop in college? What a fucking rip off!

Sucks that hard working people get treated this way.

If they are at least a little competant then they will do their due diligence and do a little math like you did

tranza 05-17-2005 03:59 PM

That's fucked up...

Anyone wanna start a company like this? $40,000 startup. Let me know :)

chadglni 05-17-2005 04:01 PM

Dude are you retarded? There is a rent to own store in every ghetto that is worse than this. Some people cannot save money. They will pay 10 times the price to get shit in payments. Welcome to the world.

Reminds me of an episode of the Simpsons.

Homer: "Imagine how much furniture we could rent with that much money!"

They're not competent, that's the whole point.

Funny, a buddy of mine decked out his entire house with rented furniture. Then he stopped making payments. Then the rental company and the Sheriff came by to collect the furniture... Now he is back to milk crates for coffee tables and bean bags for lazy chairs...

Anyone who did the same due dilegence will come to the same realization that you did. Unforunately, not many people do research and will just buy from an ad pitch.

So i assume you think pawn shops are scams too? They just take advantage of those who need computers and are not real well off...its just business...

Now what i wonder is...I used to be a licensed Dell Reseller and that is very hard to obtain...something tells me Dell wouldnt go for this. So i doubt they are doing this 100% legitly

Paulzy 05-17-2005 06:13 PM

What is there to go for?

Who says they need to be a licensed reseller?

You can pick and choose and server and then resell it legitly, Dell allows this.

Easy to do:

find a dell agent that a friend knows or that is referred to you, tell him you want to buy 2000 laptops and they give you a cheap ass price.

buy em, then resell em like they are.

boom, bucks in the bank.
