Playstation3, XBox360, Nintendo Revolution - release dates and pricing?
 

Anyone know the approximate release dates and pricings for the 3 consoles? Have to know if I can buy all 3 if they are spaced nicely or go in for just one if they come out together.

We dont know price tags yet. They seem like they wouldnt be cheap with how powerful the systems are

The PS3 game videos look so awesome I would have bought it right now if it was out, at any price. But maybe when its released next year, PC games would have the same quality graphics..

I think that the XBOX 360 gonna be $400 because my local Sam Goody said that they're taking pre-orders for it, that it's gonna be $500 with your choice of 2 games as a bundle. They didn't give me an actual date though, they just said around the holiday season.

They could be wrong though OR the pricing could change.

I heard Msoft was doing some crazy work for the 360 behind the scenes and is going to have like 100+ new titles for the system. Anyone hear of what the game lineup looks like for the PS3 and/or the Revolution?

I still don't have a PSP yet just because I haven't seen ONE game for it I'd like to play. . .

PS3 has far more support from the top developers. The demos shown at E3 have been said to be jawdropping (as opposed to xbox360)

Anyone know how much I could get for my un-used PS2, the old model (not the new thin one)? Been thinking of unloading it.. though maybe I should keep it.. once PS3 comes out used game prices will drop.. still a good console..

Bigger difference than between PS1 and PS2. PS3 is reportedly 35 times more powerful than PS2 and is twice as powerful as XBox360. This article doesn't say it but I read somewhere else that it can support up to 7 wireless controllers at once.

Communication interfaces have been upgraded and the PlayStation 3 will include three Ethernet ports, 802.11b/g wireless LAN and Bluetooth. In addition, there are six USB 2.0 interfaces and card slots for Memory Stick, Secure Digital and Compact Flash (CF) memory cards. The console also includes a slot for a removable 2.5-inch hard-disk drive.

SCEI is offering a number of controller options, including a Bluetooth-based wireless controller and a wired model that connects to the console using USB. Users can also use a PlayStation Portable as a controller over a wireless LAN.

For gamers, the PlayStation 3's upgraded graphics will likely be the most important improvement. In addition to the extra performance offered by the new chips, the PlayStation 3 will also be capable of high-definition output up to 1,080 lines in progressive scan, which is the highest image quality of several signal types generally grouped as high-definition signals.

Besides playing games, the console will also double as a player for high-definition movies on Blu-ray Disc. PlayStation 3 games will also come on Blu-ray Disc and the drive will support almost all flavors of CD and DVD media and Super Audio CD.

That sounds like a fair guess, though I was assuming something like $300. Anybody know if the X-Box 360 is backwards compatible? All I know is that's what I'm buying for Christmas... ok I lied, a new sound system, too.

What I find very attractive about both systems is the wireless compatibility. Everything is going wireless. Man, over the next 5 years I think we're really going to see technology take a huge jump. Its crazy to even imagine the growth compared to what we saw in the '90s, but wireless is really making waves.

Wow. I'm excited. Amazing things are coming. Cars will be linked to phones linked to handheld devices linked to home computers linked to home entertainment centers. Just wow. This is only 3-5 years away.

The game lineup on PS3 makes it a must buy for any gamer, without even seeing the game trailers. Once you see the videos though, there's no doubt you gotta have it -

Devil May Cry has been sold to another developer, so I hope they don't fuck it up.

Oblivion will come out on the PS3? Guess I won't need a XBox 360 after all... too bad about Halo 3, but I won't buy the damn thing for a single game.

Not sure but PS3 can play PS2 and PS1 games. Why you still would want to play a PS1 game on a PS3 is beyond me, but you can.

The Xbox 360 is said to be backwards compatible with "the top-selling xbox games" according to a spokesperson at MS press conference yesterday, whatever that may mean...
Seems weird as it's an entirely different architecture.

BTW: I'll go for the Xbox 360, if it's as easy to hack around with as the Xbox! ;)
