I feel the same way too. It would have to be filler. The ugly people will do things that the hot ones wont. They will get pissed or let you treat them like shit for barely anything.

because the % of girls who will make the decision to go into porn is incredibly tiny. think about it - LA is the porn production capital of the world - i get pics of every new girl in the business in my email from every agent/scout/pimp there is and we're talking maybe 20 new girls a month - a handful are attractive. how many females are there in the United States between 18-30? tiny tiny percentage.

Ugly girls will do almost anything. . . and guys will watch it.

Mutt is 100% right about this. As popular as porn is and it is still getting more popular, the real hotties are few and far between. I spend a lot of time and money recruiting new talent for just that reason.

I think in mostly has to do with your idea of ugly, everybodys standards are different. My idea of a hot girl may not be the same as yours. I think the cliche Beauty is in the eye of the beholder is truely proven with the internet, I don't think any photographer is going to shoot a girl he knows is ugly to try to make money. You may think she's ugly and others might think she is hot. I've shot girls who I thought were OK but nothing special, but when others see the pics they rave about how hot the girl is. If they made 500-750 movies a year TOTAL for the entire industry well that was a huge year now that's not even a month. Also you'd think super hot chicks could get job doing other things with their looks other than fucking and sucking dick. I don't get some of these girls that are really great looking not only doing porn, but doing creampie and other stuff like that.

Used to be back in the day the super hot chicks could get out of having do anything extreme and get paid top $, and by extreme back then was just plain anal. Cuz most photographers will shoot anything that will get naked or suck a cock. Half the guys shooting have no standards and all and the ones that do, most dont have the budget for the real hot girls. Thats why you see so many ugly chicks for the most part. There's exceptions of course, but I feel strongly about my theory above.
