Sponsors... selling other Sponsors....

This shit cracks me up.......

So anyway... I'm just moving some traffic around. I'm getting ready to send some traffic to a newer sponsor... maybe generate some biz... right? Wrong!

Upon an exit pop, I'm shown 14 different sites from 14 different sponsors! Is that my ref code in there? Hell no! I'm sure it's the original Sponsors! I guess they figure if they can't convert their own traffic, why not display ads as an "affiliate".

Before you "you shoulda chose no pop" people show up...... I did... and it showed anyway. Besides.. I'm not "anti pop up". I have plenty of sponsors that show a pop and give me credit for the sale. But seriously... sponsors needing to make money popping others as affiliates? That's fuckin' pathetic.

Bling.

Almost every program has popups for other programs and more then 1/2 of the time you don't get credit for them

Some program owners claim to promote them and you get 100% sale and 100% of the exit console...But guess what they have inside their members area -=)

tranza 05-13-2005 09:05 PM

I think a lot of sponsor do this.... Or at least they used to do...

Jace 05-13-2005 09:05 PM

i think that sponsor program that do this should start allowing you to enter your codes for other affiliate programs and enter them in on the exit console

like rabbit reviews does with paysites...you enter a shitload of aff codes when you join the program and get credit for them sending your hits to another sponsor...i guess what I am talking about would be a honest and fair way of doing business...might be a little too much to ask for

Ya think? I work with tons that DON'T. They'll redirect to their own sites and give the original refferer credit.

What's the point of paying more for the popup option then?

When I started in this biz, about 5 years ago, I noticed MOST of the sponsors did this and I decided to ALWAYS use the console free option.

That's why I said: "I think a lot of sponsor do this.... Or at least they used to do...", I haven't checked consoles in a while, so I could be wrong...

That would make perfect sense for a revshare program but for a PPS program the revenue generated from those exits is part of your payout.
:2 cents:

There were "console free options" 5 years ago???

Not on any programs I ever used.

That's not good thinking... Unless you only promote sponsors through galleries, and you don't give a fuck to loyal surfers...

Ok, maybe not 5 years ago. I started in this biz doing AVS sites so I wouldn't know. Maybe I only started pushing other sites 2-3 years ago? I'm not sure... Anyway, they already offered this option.

And why the fuck do you have to be such a dick every other time you post?

I remember pushing Intergal and the only console they had was an e-mail collecting box. Gammacash did the same.

I don't remember any consoles with Amateur Pages (the blind click program of Adult.com), but I could be wrong on this one.

And I guess that was 5 years ago.

Now that I'm thinking, consoles back then where COMPLETLY different from the ones we have today. Again, maybe I'm wrong, I don't have such a good memory.

Everybody does consoles differently.
I pushed some partnership programs that had 3 consoles, and per sign up programs that only had 1.....but pretty much everybody had consoles back then, and there wasn't an option (that I am aware of) to turn them off.

When TGP's became a dominant traffic source like they are today and stopped listing galleries promoting sites that had lots of consoles, affiliates complained and sponsors made changes.

I'm in a grouchy fucking mood tonight....nothing personal.
