Im already making money with tgps, should I bother with free sites?

I bought this newbie tutorial learning thing and it says to start with free sites and start with free hosting at first.
But I already have great hosting and my own server and can afford to burn through lots of bandwith.

So should I bother with free sites or just assume im past that point and keep moving?
I dont make Big money with tgps or anything, but it pays the rent and the bills.

try it could be more money and worth it, never know till you try

Spunky 05-12-2005 09:22 PM

Probably for someone starting back in 2000..they still work if you have enough of them..

FunForOne 05-12-2005 09:24 PM

From what I've heard about the guys who moved to free sites is that you get less traffic but more targeted. Sounds like an even trade, but I've also heard that free sites generate traffic for the long term which can generate sales months later.

Do a search and find Iggy, I think he would be the one to ask about free sites on the long term basis.

tradr_09 05-12-2005 09:29 PM

Yeah I agree. From experience, free sites in big numbers are good for traffic generation

SmutGiant 05-12-2005 09:36 PM

SE's love freesites :)

Sly 05-12-2005 09:41 PM

If I remember right, you're promoting an AVS of your own? If that is the case, sure, doing free sites would be a decent extra thing to do. If you're planning on promoting some programs paysite, there are better things you can do with your time.

If you were just starting, free sites are a good way to break yourself in. I recently started somebody with free sites, he now spends about an hour or two a day and he's done.

I did but I stopped. Avs's sucked for me. The results were abysmal, so I'm looking for other things to try.

I want to see what kind of results people are getting from free sites.

You're not going to find money by jumping around from project to project. It takes time, learning, tweaking, and volume. Free sites are not going to make you rich over night. You'll need to build and submit daily, for months, before you're happy. Add them to your daily routine for extra cash, but don't expect miracles.

Yep, that's pretty accurate.

If anyone is looking for freesite designs, I happen to know a designer who does em cheap... :Graucho

Pretty good advice. :thumbsup

Sosa 05-12-2005 10:16 PM

might as well try it

Dagwolf 05-12-2005 10:19 PM

Moving from TGP to freesites is like going from McDonalds to Burger King.

Try moving up instead. Make an AVS or paysite and use your TGP skills to promote it.

I agree, I just hate pumping a dry well.

at least with tgps I SAW the kind of money people were making and knew that if I kept going I'd be making money too.
But with this other stuff I dont know anyone who does it and dont see it, so I second guess everything.

if you try to make money only doing what others are doing, you won't make any money at all...

There is absolutley no reason. Stick to galleries.

Paul Markham 05-12-2005 10:50 PM

We are promoting Paul Markham Teens ourselves only via TGPs. We simply do not have the time to go any other route. Though we do have a few affiliates.

After four months our traffic is way over 150 joins a month and rising. This is one guy doing Chameleon and hand submits to 20 partner accounts, 4 days a week. His main job is programming.

$3600 a month will not make us rich but it shows what can be done. However it has to be worked at and done all the time, it's a long term strategy rather than a get rich quick scheme. The nice thing is most members stay 2 months on average.

Would love to try freesites, but until we get another body in the office it's not going to happen. More likely we start buying traffic and spots.

Pretty_Lara 05-13-2005 12:14 AM

tgp rocks ! ! ! free sites too !!! one of my affiliate having more then 300 tg/cj he sending more then 50k a day hits only to me, also he promote more then 50 pay sites ... so with tgp cj can do lots of money ....

theFeTiShLaDy 05-13-2005 02:21 AM

always engage yourself into different things..you might have luck with free sites as well.

rounders 05-13-2005 02:22 AM

Terenzo 05-13-2005 02:31 AM
