This new computer is giving me a hard time

It's on a new p5 board . Here are the specs :

p5-gd1 main board .
LGA775 3.2 ghz main processor
1 gig dual channel ddr
80 gig hard drive

Every time I try to install windows, just after "windows setup is loading file" part, it says : Setup is starting windows

Just at that moment I get the message :
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps :

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it's proprely configured and terminated . Run chkdsk /f to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer .

Technocal information :
** stop : 0x0000007b (0xF7A2663C, 0X00000034,0X000000000,0X000000000)

So far I've tried 4 different windows disk . (3 torrent download, one REAL cd) . All give me the same error .

I've formatted it and it still give me that error .

Do thoses new p5 board need windows xp 64 or what ? I just don't get it .

Try replacing your memory and disable any on-board devices. Hope that works.

Is your memory is compatable, lots of different types. I just built a new system and did lots of checking to make sure every part worked with every other part.

make sure you have non-ECC ddr memory.
