Allright isn't this Martin Luther King's birthday that is being celebrated here today? Wasn't he a proponent of peace?

My girlfriend is an HIV Counselor here in Los Angeles and her office is walking in the MLK Day Parade here. I just now got a phone call from her saying that she has to come home because the people watching the parade are threatening her and staring at her rudely because she is WHITE. Her boss told her to go home immediately for her safety.

PEACE, people, MLK preached peace. What the fuck is up with that. And people always try to tell me that reverse discrimination doesn't really exist. Bullshit, try being white in LA for a week or two and then get back to me on it.

Now I am shitting my pants waiting for her to get home, checking the driveway every 3 fucking minutes. Happy Fucking Holiday, huh?

I think she should have stuck it out. Maybe ask a cop to walk with her. It's the same shit blacks had to go through to get into school not to long ago. Of coarse being idealistic means you have to pay a price for your beliefs. Personally I wouldn't have gone in the first fucking place but I'm old(28) and jaded(a smut peddler).

my car broke down on one of the freeways in l.a. last year and the tow truck dropped us off in south central l.a. around 6pm. I nearly shit myself, even the cab drivers won't pick your ass up. anyways,now she knows it isn't safe anywhere you go.

I remember a joke Chris Rock used to tell about Martin Luther King being about peace and non-violence and if you find any Martin Luther King Blvd in any town you're going to find some violence...LOL
