If you are a vegetarian and eat at Mcdonalds...

what in god fucking name are you thinking?

i keep reading all these articles about people that are vegetarians and vegans that got pissed off at Mcdonalds for having beef product in non beef menu items...

but my question is -

what is a vegan/vegetarian doing going to one of the most famous BEEF restaurants in the world?

seems like fucking stupidity if you ask me

basically, from what I reading, the ONLY lunch/dinner menu item on the menu that doesn't have beef product in it, is the non-meat salads...LOL....i am not a vegetarian and I even could figure that one out

KMR Stitch 05-11-2005 04:05 PM

You still think thats beef that you are eating :-x

MandyBlake 05-11-2005 04:05 PM

yeah that doesn't make any sense.
i figure people who are take anything specific out of their diet are very careful about where they eat and want to know the ingredients of everything they put in their mouths.

MrIzzz 05-11-2005 04:06 PM

they actually use beef at all? lol, i always thought everything there was made out of soy with animal flavoring :1orglaugh

nofx 05-11-2005 04:07 PM

they do serve other things than meat products...

salad, fries, deserts, soda...

the fries are cooked in beef fat, actually. and the vegetarian burgers are cooked on the same grill as regular burgers.

Exactly, that's the funniest part.

Since when is beef grey? :1orglaugh

Jace 05-11-2005 04:11 PM

mcdonalds ONLY uses 100% grass fed cows for their beef....

do some research people

and i don't know where you are eating, but my burgers aren't grey

sumphatpimp 05-11-2005 04:12 PM

due to a lack of protien and other important nutrients vegans have a problem with normal thinking.

Actually they stoped using lard/beef fat in the 70's and is the main reason why their fries are not as good as they once where. At least in the US.

Beef can turn a shade of grey when cooked, often the step right before camelization occures. Brown some ground beef some time and watch.

Here in Canada, they're cooked in a blend of beef fat and cotton seed oil. You're right though, they're not cooked in beef fat in the US, however the US ingredients list this: "natural flavor (beef source)"

I don't understand it either... Im a "vego" and i wouldn't step foot in that place. Besides their shit being totally sub-par whats the point? although here in oz they're trying to compete with subway at the moment and they've got lots of healthy rolls.. but still.

FUCKed up shit, didnt know that

also funny, I went into mcdonalds today for lunch to eat. the cashier asked me if I wanted to "Up Size" my meal. I looked at her and laughed really hard, her manager was next to her and asked why I was laughing. I told him its funny that they got rid of the term "Super Size" and I told him it was because of the bad publicity McD got from the movie 'Super Size Me' . he tryed to tell me "No, that was not the reason" I just continued laughing and got my food and left.

I'll never understand why any human being would ever eat at McDonalds, vegetarian or not. The food is poison, stop being lazy and cook for yourself if you can't afford a real meal at a restaurant.

Food from a real restaurant really is not all that much better for you. :2 cents:

it was actually in 1990, that was when they switched to 100% vegetable oil and started using beef "seasoning", which they call natural flavoring

No, the reason they aren't as good as they used to be is because they went to using frozen fries instead of using fresh potatoes
