Semi Big Movie site bites the dust

the site just closed just couple of days ago. I know the owner a bit, and he is a really nice fellow. I guess at one point just recently he was geting 60K uniques a day, which is pretty good for a CJ movie site. But it all comes down to giving away too much free stuff to surfers, which is what he did and is the reason why he had to shut down.

DEFINITELY a cry we are learing left and right now.

A few years ago, who would have ever imagined that sites 50k + would shut down because they weren't making enough money to cover nadwisth costs, etc?

seriously. it really sucks that webmasters are forced to shut down a 60k site because of lack of cash. he wrote that he didnt have a SINGLE sign-up on that site, just imagine that.

I hope all the movie posts which dont use licensed content, which must be about 90%, are forced to shut down soon.

Phunk was a very nice guy.

Although people were reluctant to signup to his sponsors via his webpage he did have significant success with signups to his AVS movie archive.

Phunk had recently setup his own amateur interracial paysite where he promoted him and his girlfriend; so I think he has shifted his focus there.

exactly,phunkz runs his own paysite now and he's concentrated on this. I wish him good luck with it, i know he works and i think he'll do good
