You do have a point. The problem with society in this regard is that the obesity problem is growing out of control (no pun intended). So for those overweight people out there that normally would be ridiculed, calling themselves "BBW" is many ways a self-defence/self-justification mechanism.

Unfortunately, it can also leads to denial.

While there are people of both sexes that find "fat" attractive, they are certainly in the minority. So when overweight people start to accept it and in some cases even flaunt it they are, on one hand, making a bold statement that they are happy with themselves. Fair enough, you shouldn't walk around feeling like crap ... but ... if you accept it to the point that you deny it's a health concern, and potentially fatal, in the end you are only kidding yourself and you are going to suffer for it.

P.s. While the original post was over-the-top and "inflammatory" I do agree in the general principle that "I just cannot be attracted physically to an even modestly-overweight woman". Call me shallow, etc. etc. but I am really only aroused with a woman who is thin: not skinny, not average, but thin.

Everyone who is a little or a lot overweight has been on a diet at some point in their life.
Once you get used to drinking diet soda you can't go back to regular soda, it tastes like syrup. So LOTS of people (skinny ones too) order a big mac, large fries, and diet coke.

Only thing I will mention is that genetics does play a part in gaining/losing weight, for some its a lot easier than others. However please feel free to take the piss outa people that sit on their asses all day doing nothing then blaming it on genetics.
