Saw Black Hawk Down today...

2 and a half hours of non-stop action.

It had great action in it, but the movie kinda lacked a good story line - basically like watching a movie with an action scene 2 and a half hours long.

LOL, It sounds cool, but gets boreing http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif

I give it a 3 out of 5...
Anybody else?

Outstanding flick. Very realistic. No details appeared to be overlooked. It had a great story line but unlike most movies, It did not focus on 1 or 2 characters. This is what makes it stand above all other film of it's kind.

5 out of 5

A bit uncalled for. Rollin expressed his opinion and he is welcome to it. No need for a personal attack. A lot of movies are "based" on a true story but they still have strong story lines. Different people look for different things in movies. Personally, I hated Natural Born Killers and Pulp Fiction but I seem to be the minority there. Does that make me an idiot too?

if my comment doesn't involve you, why throw in your own scenerio? go diet or something.

What's the point in adding a 'glamorized' storyline to a movie like this when it is based off an actual event.

wait..
you do know that this was based off an actual event right?

rollin2 01-20-2002 09:26 PM

porn rules,
yes.

don't you have something better to do? like jack off at gay porn?

porn rules 01-20-2002 09:29 PM

So it would make it a better story line if they captured the leader when in actuality that didn't happen?

xApster 01-20-2002 09:30 PM

I thought it was a VERY good movie but they left a lot of parts out about how the americans where actualy killed ...

AaronM 01-20-2002 09:33 PM

porn rules: Might I suggest that you not attack me either? I did not attack you. You are at 6 posts and you come in here shooting off your mouth? Bad move on your part. Show some maturity and perhaps you will gain some respect. Fun is fun but you are making this personal.

Peace

I'm guessing it was all the fuckers that were shooting at them. I don't believe any of the KIA troops there died of cancer or from choking on a ham sandwich.

Pretty amazing movie. That should really say something for the US military. 1000 Somalians dead and only 19 Americans. Not to discount the value of the Americans that WERE killed, but considering the ratio it is quite an impressive feat. All 300,000 of the bug eyed little fucks that starved before we intervened are not worth those 19 American soldiers lives.

Rochard 01-20-2002 09:57 PM

I saw Blackhawk Down with Tanker the other night. Killer action - 5 out of 5 all the way. Makes me thankful that my four years in the Marines were uneventful......

rollin2 01-20-2002 09:59 PM

yeah no doubt

props to the soldiers who fight wars for freedom and peace.

i couldn't do what they do... all of them are heros in my books...

No many americans were captured and tortured, draged behind cars, beaten, cut ect... but the US gov did not allow that to be seen in the movie.

What the fuck is your point? You can write lots of different story line based on a historical event. From X's point of view to Y's point of view to A's point of view.

what does someones point of view have to do with the results of an actual event? Would the point of view rewrite history?

rollin2 01-20-2002 10:42 PM

how do you know the story is 100% correct
you don't
its a bit of hollywood too...

I am sorry to say that this thread has become a complete waste. This was about the review of a movie not about that review is right or wrong. I do not agree with Rollin's review but at least I respect his opinion. It seems to me that Rolling is simply stating that sometimes real life is not as entertaining as real life combined with a little fiction. Case in point. A lot of threads on GFY are started with a serious point or question. This represents "real life" Usually somebody throws in some smart ass shit (I am guilty) and the thread then becomes reality based fiction. You have to admit... It make GFY more interesting. Why would it not do the same for a movie?

Dude, read Bowden's other book 'Killing Pablo' they get the bad guy in the end, promise. Plus it has nekkid chicks in it.

That guy's a motherfucker of a researcher, the detail of the book makes the movie look like a broad outline.

BrettJ 01-20-2002 11:44 PM

best movie i've seen all year

rollin2 01-20-2002 11:56 PM

i went to see oceans 11 a couple nights before...that was an awesome movie http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif

BrettJ 01-21-2002 12:22 AM

no way. too hollywood.

kane 01-21-2002 05:18 AM

I went to see this with 2 Marine buddys of mine. One of them was among the 20K marines that were sent there to help feed and protect the somalies. He said it was very realistic in how they showed the somalie people hating the us even though we were there to help. Also, they both told me that there is one thing they left out. At the end, that one bad ass guy who was going back in - I can't remeber his name but he was the one eating and reloading and heading back in to get the last of the guys - he is in jail now for raping his daughter. . . it's sad how someone can be do something so brave and honorable in one moment and so disgusting and terrible in the next.

Anyway. I give the movie a big thumbs up.

SexyJo 01-21-2002 11:46 AM

5 out of 5 for me
the most intense 2 hours of action...everyone go watch it!
