Question for Tech/SEO/Affiliate Managers
A lot of programs allow webmasters to link directly to the promoted site, for example:
www.domain.com/?aff_id=XXXX Has this caused issues with SEO for you? Obviously, some webmasters will try to beat you to the top of the SERPs with your own keywords. Others who spam your links (message boards, etc.) can get your site penalized/banned on the search engines. From what I've seen very few sponsor sites suffer from this which surprises me... Secondly, in terms of your own SEO efforts has using tracking IDs for inbound links caused issues with indexing? For example, Google is not crawling the landing page properly due to the PHP/ASP, etc. code? Again, from what I've seen not too many sites are affected by this so has it either been that you are fortunate Google, e.g., indexed you or did you do some real testing first? Thanks in advance for any feedback! :pimp |
