vbulletin uses mysql, best/fastest
board I think

OpenBB... no Perl anywhere. Just pure PHP, mySQL, and HTML. IkonBoard is supposed to be pretty good too.

UBB rules; it's still standing strong after the way GFY tortured it with a huge number of posts and visits... It consumes lots of resources, though...

If you want a board that has all the features of UBB, but is hosted on THEIR servers, (and did I mention FREE ???) check out EZBOARD DOT COM (hehehe ... UBB code blanks it out, tried to put a link... UBB must consider them a real threat ??)

Yep, OpenBB is free... so is IkonBoard.

using ikonboard... it's a pain in the ass to customize only cuz there's Soooo many options.

Hit me up if you need someone to do it for you. Also note* I have it set up so you have to register to view the board but you don't need to post obviously.

That's fuckin' weird. I tried to see if there was a limit that I set but there wasn't. It did let me register the name "HQ"
The temp password is 12345. Just change or delete it if ya want but that will at least allow you to get in and check it out.

I've customized just about every graphic on the site so you can get a good idea of what is possible.

so did HQ work? I'm HQ_ now. it says to the left that there's a min 3 letter limit for user and pass.
