Does GFY Support Scammers?
 

It seems to me that GFY is at least partially responsible for allowing known scammers to remain on GFY. People that have been caught scamming and stealing from webmasters are almost always allowed to remain on GFY thus making it easy for them to repeat their past antics. Most other boards will ban someone who is caught scamming almost instantly. Does GFY not care? Do the powers that be not give a shit that their legitimate audience are being ripped off? Allowing someone who is a known scammer to continue posting on GFY is equivilant to saying "it's OK to cheat webmasters here, we don't really mind."

What is the reason for allowing scammers to remain on GFY? Are they good for banner impressions or something?

There are quite a few around here. Candyflip is one of them that immediately comes to mind. He was outed for selling gallery designs that he didn't do.

I'm not trying to start shit but if I were someone who didn't know who he was and he scammed me via GFY I would be pretty upset that he was allowed to stay here even though most of GFY knows what he's all about.

So? There are several confirmed scammers here. It's not like I am asking that people are banned because of a hunch.

hunch or not, people say others are scammers and provide "proof", most of which cant be confirmed other then by the people making the accusations. i dont think its lensmans problem people hire and prepay thousands of dollars without checking references.

Actually, if the powers that be at adult.com knowingly allow scammers to operate on their board they could be held liable.

Babaganoosh has a great point here. Dickheads posting bullshit get banned but scammers caught redhanded are free to post at will.

I guess the argument against banning them would be that there isn't much point as they will constantly be outed whenever they solicit biz on GFY. But I think they could still get biz thru their sig's and low profile posts in other people's threads

maybe lensman will hire you to be a private detective to investigate all claims made on gfy. that way we know its legitmate rather then someone with a high post count being a dick.

all GFY needs is a full time moderator, and I don't tink they have one that works with GFY full time...but it definately needs one, but at the same time, i feel like most that are on this board already would abuse the power if they had it

I am sure people will be off GFY if you can provide the local authorities in the country they are from with absolute proof they have done a scam (scams involve breaking laws, you know), I have heard they do not have Internet in jail.

They got internet in jail sometimes HBO too

Fortunately I wasn't a victim of most of the scammers. I couldn't very well call the police and report a crime that I know little or nothing about. I know numerous people here on GFY who have been scammed by other GFY members and that's what I am trying to correct here. If the victim of the scammer wants to call the police, that's up to them. I just want the scammers off GFY.
