AltaVista - i remember her well. the only search engine i ever made any serious money with. Man Google came out of nowhere and just steamrolled AV and the others. BUT the lesson is there, people are very fickle and Net surfers aren't nearly as rigid and stuck in their ways as in other consumer markets and when Google can't or won't fix the spamming problem a new engine will pop up with clean relevant results and they will flock to it the same way people beat a path from Alta Vista to Google. Google also needs to check its Microsoft-esque greed - different biz they're in than Bill Gates, they will pay a big price if they try some of the shit they want to try.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!Comment

Yea, altavista used to be the shit! When it was yellow and blue, I would have some high rankings in that engine. Then google came, and gave the everyman his websites back.
