Seems that using banners still works?
 

A long time ago in a galaxy far away, many people agreed that banners suck at getting surfers to click them, a good text link was always the recommended method when selling a sponsor. However, all the new programs coming out still have thousands of banners, especially horizontal ones.

So the question is, are banners effective at selling porn these days?

everything could be 'effective' if you know how to use it..

I think that surfers used to click on standart banners, so it's still effective.

it is true that click thru rate on banners is not very good.

but the quality of the targeted traffic that comes from them is VERY good.

if you have an information type banner (rather than a generic blind banner) and someone clicks on it the conversion can be like 1 in 20.
