My roommates computer was so bad I had to reformat. I made him stick with Firefox, hasn't had a problem since.

You might want to add a HOSTS file manager to your arsenal. Some spyware modifies it to block or redirect URLs. One application can add hundreds or even thousands of entries. Happened to me a month or so ago, I think I missed unchecking the option to have that happen:upsidedow.

I use microsoft, spybot and adaware...plus surf with Mozilla firefox. I get nothing.

mardigras 05-06-2005 10:14 PM

To clarify that... Spyware can and does modify your HOSTS file but a spyware-free program can too, as was in my case.

Lykos, bro... Why didn't you ask me first? I know a few good anti-spyware tools, and course I'd aslo suggest you to download Microsoft AntiSpayware which is FREE, however it was abole to find a couple of old spyware modules that were not detected by other software such as McAfee, Norton and others...
