Would you recommend Techie Media Hosting?
 

I need and host and Techie Media meets my needs but I can't find an email for general questions if you don't have an exisitng account with them.

Can anyone recommend their services? If you do host with them, do they allow domain name without the www in front?

LOL! I hate slamming people and companies on these boards, but IMO they fucking suck a big nasty cock. When I hosted with them their servers kept going down for 5 hours or more at a time. They were impossible to contact when this shit was happening, and the only time I ever saw hide or hair of them was when they thought they were being slandered on the forums.

Two points:

First I realize that their "high-end" clients never so much as experienced a tiny bump in their service.

Second, if you think I'm full of shit, I suggest you do a search on AWI.

Fuck those cocksucking assholes. As far as I'm concerned they owe me for having to start over from scratch with an 80% or more reduction in traffic.

If they would have been contactable or offered even a lame attempt at an apology, I wouldn't be writing this.

i'm very happy with candid hosting. been with them for over 2 years. top notch tech support, performance and uptime. and we do a ton of bw with them.

i don't mean to slam your company and i'm not but why do you charge a $10 monthly fee? and a fee to setup mysql and cgi?

drumsicle, dude you must be on drugs, or some competitor trying to bash them. I have been with Techie for like 6 months. Yes last september they had a few days of downtime while they moved their Data center, but thay also gave everyone they entire month Free. Since then I havent been down even 1 time. Their tech support is awesome and their prices rock. Some of the biggest sites in the world are hosting with them now. If you send them an email they will answer you usually within minutes. The email I use is [email protected] I have nothing but good things to say about these guys. Highly recommended in my book.

The downtime that techie had was only for a few days just like Wiredoctor said, and all those posts you mention all happened at the same time, so it all makes sense.

Also I have never 1 time seen any posts From Techie Media spamming their service, unlike most of the other Hosts that are continually spamming on every thread they can. Actually it's a little mysterious as to who they really are? But nonetheless, they are Rock Solid now and in my opinion are a top notch hosting company.

I buy mine from an individual now. I am not the best person to ask, but here is my experience...Techiemedia sucks!; Avoid Westmaster like the plague; Although, I have no personal experience, I have heard nothing but good things about Sextracker's hosting.

My suggestion, for what it's worth, is to use the search function on this and other boards. Good luck.
