Improving the quality of the content (pics)
Original:
http://www.matures2u.com/thumbs/024_imagea.jpg Improved version: http://www.matures2u.com/thumbs/024_image.jpg I used curves, auto contrast, shadow/highlight with PS to achieve this. Do you think its a good job? |
you should also use unsharpen mask :2 cents:
|
Its a bit too yellow in my opinion.

It looks good. I'd just used manually contrast, and levels.
But generally it's ok. |

Contrast has to be done in small amounts, just a little too much and you've ruined it.
Was the original a digital image or a scanned film image? Someone else mentioned unsharp mask.. which is great, sometimes. You can also combine that with a low-opacity layer on top, with an ever-so-slight Gaussian blur. Give it a try and you might like the results. There are some very good tutorials online about improving digital photos... getting rid of the "haze" if your lighting and white balance wasn't spot on, improving color quality (which requires monitor calibration and some knowledge, but that's easy to come by) and so forth. Takes time to learn the techniques but if you use it, it is time well-invested. |

nice pic :)

If I was you I would save yourself a lot of time and have someone with talent shoot the pictures. IMO both versions are pretty shitty.

yes, when shooting have the model hold a standard color chart so you have a referrent to do a correct balance to a known grey or white. do not use too much contrast on women over about age 22, it shows too much skin imperfection. |
