More fucking nightmares....
So I talked to my mother this morning about the medical examiner's results, my grandmother passed from a massive brain hematoma.
The best part is yet to come... My grandmother was a jehovah's witness, and these people would occassionally help her. Sunday, her best friend came to see her and my grandmother was begging her to get an apartment or something with her, and repeating over and over that she didn't want to go into a home. Her friend reassured her that nobody in her family wanted that, and at the time when she felt she was ready, one of us would have gladly taken her. There seemed to be no reason for her to be upset. Well my uncles were going through her papers, and found documents granting these fucking Jehovah's Witnesses power of attourney, and documents regarding her being put into a home as of July 1. The paperwork was not filled out by her (it's someone else's writing), but only a shaky signature of hers on the bottom is there. I found this out and called the head honcho and ripped him a new asshole, but what these fucking freaks don't know is that my uncles each work for the biggest newspapers in the west. Believe me, they will be hearing our story. Has anything like this ever happened to any of you? I'm going to be talking to my lawyer today, but a little input is always great. Sorry if I'm being off-topic for GFY, but I really need somewhere to ask about this and see if anyone else feels this is as horrible and disgusting as I feel it is. I can't even begin to imagine how tortured my grandmother was about all this.. |
How "Stable" was your grandmother? If it is possible to draw a conclusion that she wasn't able to make sound judgments you could probably have power of attorney overturned.
Depending on the assholes that conned your grandmother I'd be getting ready for a messy legal battle. |
never had anything happen like thatbefore sweety, but I wish you the best of luck in getting everything sorted out to the family's benefit.
|
Oh my, that is a terrible and scary story. To take advantage in that manner reaks of malicious intent.
Sorry you are having to deal with this, glad you have family who can/will bring this awful situation to light. |

She was stable, but they had spent years programming her and basically brainwashing her to accept what they did. There is no way in hell she would have signed papers agreeing to go into a home. It was her WORST fear, she told all of us that and we all agreed that she would never have to. She would have been MORE than welcome with any of us, and we had told her this so she was fully aware of it. That being said it wouldn't have been hard for these people to force her to do it, as I said she was "conditioned" |
That being said i would defintely fight it all the way. You're going to need to call many witnesses to testify to what she wanted/what she told them to back up your claims...
Honestly, i wouldnt fuck around i'd be calling lawyers who specialize in these matters. BUT, talk to the lawyers BEFORE anyone goes and gets anything published. In theory it sounds nice to draw attention to these fuckers however it might hurt your case, i just dont know...The lawyer will :) |

i have no experience with any of this, but i hope you get everything situated.

Best wishes to you. JW's are vile! They were probably trying to get their hands on her estate. I know there is a website out there that details all the people who have had molestations and sexual abuse covered up by their elders. I think it's called lost sheep or something like that. Maybe there is something out there about them also abusing elderly and infirm people.

here is the site I was talking about http://www.silentlambs.org/
|
Holy cow, that's horrible! I thought that was just a scam for a conman, not a religious organization. Go get em, Lady M.
|
Wow. She gave them power of attorney?
If your grandma has any money or property, you better make sure they haven't stolen it. It sickens me that people take advantage of the elderly like this. It's even worse that it was by people she trusted. Hope you are able to get it all worked out Ladym. Someone is itching for a baseball bat to the anus. Go get em! |
