Playstation 2 and your Computer Monitor?

Dang it! I got this new Toshiba laptop and figured I could use it to plug my PS2 in and play "Revenge of the Sith".

Yeah you gotta use an RF modulator because the feed goes through your Media Center. That sucks as the delay is like 5 seconds.

I don't wanna buy some new software or some nonsense.

Anyone use their computers' monitor to play a game console like X Box or PS2?

no, I just connect to my TV

Not me.... But I'd like to hear some input...

umm why would you play your ps2 on a computer monitor? all you need is a vga adapter, probably cost 20 bucks. or you could buy a samsung 50inch 1080p dlp and do vice versa. use your computer on your 50 inch widescreen full HD display :)

The reason is multi-fold. I can take my PS2 with me mobile and play using my laptop monitor. My laptop is a Toshiba G15 and it's monitor is AWESOME you can see details as good as HDTV. Besides, it's a 17 inch monitor too.

I can use an RF Modulator to get a pic but it's 3-5 second delay. That sucks. I used to have a program called Nogatech that had this cool adapter. You could watch tv on your puter and play from your PS. For some odd reason the software don't work anymore. That eats ass because it ROCKED and they don't make the product anymore.

Do you still play games guys :) ? Actually I was used to play games a long time ago, but now Im fully "games free" (Im not addicted anymore). But I ordered PSP few days ago, just because I want to see that gadget and be "in" :0

btw. About your problem, I can't help you. I know that when I played PS1 I conected it to my TV and I played games ;)

Eureka! I've found it!

The Toshiba Qosmio G 15 comes with built in features that capture tv and external video sources from cable to antenna to satellite.

The problem was the procedure. It's not blasted all over the screen because Microsoft's programs are highlighted first. You have to dig for the Toshiba goodies.

So with this system it's just a few button pushes and you're up and running your PS2 or watching tv with their Qosmio Player. It's a player that can run without OS startup. So if you want a screen to play your console and stop now and then to check your email you're out of luck. I multi-task like crazy so this is a bug to me.

There's no lag and you can record your games like a movie.

The only reason I wanted my PS2 through my Qosmio monitor is because it's an awesome monitor. Yet this procedure compresses the graphics too much :(

Very playable though!

I'll be looking for other options too. I wish the PS2 had a battery! ( it might have some accessory ) because with this PS 2 I have literally the coolest mobile AV office and gaming tools. It all fits in my backpack with room to spare.

Laptop, scanner, PS2, video camera, art pad and art supplies.

So if I'm out working at a park or something or the zoo and wanna kill some time or take a break I want to pop my PS2 in and rock.

For those who don't like gaming let me tell you, I have dozens and dozens of friends who migrated to producing and creating video games.

They make FORTUNES BEYOND FORTUNES!

They started with less venture capital than most of you guys would believe. These games can be produced at low cost but sell incredibly well!

The success ratio out beats major movies in sales.

Believe you me, there are many a pornmeister I've met over the years who can out write and direct and produce any of my pals wo do vid games.

The technologies employed in these games is cutting edge and it's wise to stay on top of it. For PC games the modding communities are immense and lucrative. Fans actually getting fame and fortune! It's like having a free developement crew!

As a cartoonist, my toons get optioned for film, movies and eventually get developed into vid games as part of the licensing packages. Truly amazing to watch.

Yes! I've finally got all my equipment, art supplies etc. together after being under the weather for some time.

I can peacefully go into full bore production and have fun doin' it.

At a minimum I will quadruple my annual income and be able to make out with hot chicks alllll day!
